Assuming kopech continues to look like a middle of the road closer (still a decent commodity on his salary) and crochet a front end starter yes, absolutely. We need to be turning today's 50 cents into tmr's dollars and build depth throughout the org at every level. We do have an advantage not trying to win in 2024 (and realistically 2025) when it comes to these trades, so take advantage of it as future assets will be discounted by contenders.

He's pretty much been a 2 war player when healthy rate wise for his career. He was a better choice than TA, as many here said at the time, and is really the least of our problems. Hopefully he has some trade value if he keeps up this solid starting play.

colson treading water around a 100-110 wRC at 22 and 2 months in AAA isn't the worst thing. How are the report of his defense? That's just as important. If he can play a below average MLB SS that's still a helluva player. If he can't well he'll go to third but SSs are just so much harder to find with his bat profile.
