He def seems like a guy that likes to have a "good time". I famously dinged him for looking out of shape and drinking beer at English soccer games during his comeback. I think he's a guy that loves baseball but also loves other things, which is great. You got too many guys on our squad like Vaughn that it just looks like their entire brain is devoted to baseball and when they are scuffling it is not easy to get those types turned around.

Of anything and everything to complain about Getz the Cease trade is pretty far down the list. There was severe downside risk holding him (arm blows up) and it was asymmetrical to the upside of holding him and hoping he pitched like a true ace for three months. Getz will get a year or two. It was Jim telling the NCAA to eat a dick. Sign stealing isn't illegal. The NCAA changed the rule on advanced scouting in the mid aughts after the smaller schools complained they couldn't afford it. Any advantage UM had from advanced scouting was minimal at best given teams self scout and change signs constantly. There was never any "player safety" issue that was just jealous rivals piling on out of...jealousy. The NCAA and CFB commishes both said UM won fair and square and was the best team. Jalen Milroe said it as well. When ND wins a title I'll come congratulate you guys, I won't b**** and moan about the advantages ND has in every catholic prep school in the country or make fun of you guys for dodging UM and ending the series. Korey Lee is sitting on a wRC+ of 122, which would be good enough for 7th among all 2024 catchers if he had a few more PA and was eligible. We might have stumbled into an above average major leaguer at a hard position to find them. Let's play him more.

Don't usually participate in these types of things as I haven't lived within 100 miles of Chicago in about 15 years but Caleb Williams was in town and the Cubs had a massive crowd. It's going to be a hard contrast to see everyday for our Chicagoland based fans and I pity them, honestly. I used to get that s%*# when MSU was on top of UM for awhile it was brutal, a constant reminder of your rival's superiority.
