  1. As I said, I'd be thrilled with 70 wins next year. Just pull back into bottom 1/3 territory instead of historical suck.
  2. This guy eats at PF Changs? When he's in the Hudson Valley? Troubling.
  3. I'd settle for 70-92 personally. We're a long way away.
  4. Ok I respect not trading Tauchmann if he requested to stay in Chicago to keep his family centered as they deal with any health problems.
  5. I find it hard to believe he couldn’t have packaged Tauchmann and civale for something but maybe he thinks it’s better to try and play 400 baseball from here on out and get used to winning a bit. Not sure those goals are mutually exclusive but here we are.
  6. I don't believe him, but I want to believe.
  7. He was having a good time in the clubhouse last night during the 7 run inning, maybe he's finally embracing just being in the moment and trying to play good baseball every night. He's certainly at that age where you mature as a young man.
  8. They need the Chase/Colson/Vargas/Qeuro/Teel/Sosa group to give them like 12-15 WAR for starters. And then find about 15 WAR from the rest of the positions. Get some decent starters and spend some money I can squint and see competing in 2027.
  9. Best case is he pushes for 3 WAR, gets his option picked up and is traded over the winter.
  10. Davitt stinks and is just AAA filler. Peoples is a fairly interesting arm but is probably a straight C level as a prospect. Maybe he turns into a decent middle reliever.
  11. Peoples is mildly interesting. Davitt is basically AAA filler.
  12. Pretty underwhelming return honestly. The trades are fine in isolation but we kept vets we don't need.
  13. His ZIPS projections are horrific. He's a warm body but I don't know if he's even on the 40 man this time next year.
  14. I still expect a flurry of deals in the next few hours.
  15. Based on his EVs so far he had to have been battling some sort of injury last season and this spring. There's no way he was swinging freely like he is now. You don't go from zero to 100mph like that just based on some instruction week down in AZ imo. If that was the case everybody would be doing it.
  16. Eh, I know it seems a long ass time ago but the Sox took on some payroll back then. They straight up claimed Alex Rios and took on 60 million for example. They'd never do anything like that recently tho.
  17. SD has been around 5th to 10th in payroll during the Machado and Tatis era. That's pretty similar to where the Sox were during their stars and scrubs era. I just don't think it's sustainable for anybody other than maybe NY or LA.
  18. That strategy relies on a few stars. Once Machado fades and or Tatis gets hurt it wont work so well as sooner or later the farm won't have the capital to keep refreshing the MLB roster and the below replacement holes will grow faster than the stars can make it up.
  19. I mean this conflicts with your FGs trade value posts! For all we know teams feed disinformation as much as their honest thoughts to the industry and media.
