  1. They def told him to sell out for pull power and if he runs into one the other way so be it. It's working clearly. Look at that huge load mechanism tho. That will get figured out. It's probably the type of change he only would have embraced after being in AAA and getting traded for a fellow DFA candidate. I was heckling him last year telling him he needed to pull the ball more. Sheets told me I should be a hitting coach with a sarcastic tone. Maybe he was right.
  2. He played the field the other day. Maybe he's still having some issues swinging.
  3. Going tmr for Ichiro Funcopop night. Meeting up with some people before but got my own ticket for the once a year occasion. Sitting 25th row behind Sox dugout. Going to be in a positive spirit this year compared to last year. Def will give Will some praise and Colson and others.
  4. Perfect weather for the series. There's some wildfire smoke around but shouldn't be an issue, might be a little red haze on the broadcast, it's high up in the sky.
  5. I think Comerica is actually the awful park people think Grate is. I don't know a single Tiger fan, and I'm from Michigan so I know plenty, that think much about Comerica other than how it frames the city in photos. They built it for photos, not for people to enjoy good views of baseball.
  6. I would need like $100/hr to listen to Hahn talk.
  7. I voted yes but I'd only be OK with a small accent somewhere. The hat has to stay. I'd like to bring back the pinstripes. Maybe a pinstripe alt with green accents. I'm sure someone could whip up some decent concepts if Ishbia wanted.
  8. I'll be there on Wednesday 25th row section 137 behind Sox dugout. Not quite as good as row 2 last year but any special messages anybody would like me to relay to the club? I'm def going to be telling Will he's doing a good job and in general will be pretty nice to all the players. Unlike last year when I was just heckling the s%*# out of Vaughn and Pedro.
  9. Yep, agree with all of this. I believe he nursed injuries and ran 100% out of the box senselessly in years prior. Bad combo. He probably didn't want to come across the wrong way to a manager that didn't communicate with him in TLR. I hope Veneble has told him his most valuable skill is availability. Using the sliding gloves has helped as well. He was constantly tweaking his thumbs prior. Injury can strike anybody at any moment but he's trending up as far as health. He's only 28. These days he's still got 4-5 years left in his prime.
  10. I mean I'm taking his recent health as a great sign. The number one indicator of new injuries is prior injuries. That he's basically had nothing more than a minor strain this year is a positive. To me he looks like a guy that's learning how to protect his body better. I have enjoyed the last month of Robert tremendously. It isn't every year the Sox have a player capable of putting up 5-7 WAR, even if it's mostly just unrealized from injuries and slumps. If he keeps playing like this he'll return a decent package either over the break or next year.
  11. Didn't the last two guys we signed out of cuba completely bust? Didn't even make MLB for a cup of coffee. Sosa even if he never plays another game for us at least became about an average regular for 3/4 of a season.
  12. We need to add a 25 HR a year guy either in the corner or at 1B. If they are just going to let Beni play out his deal that sorta limits what we can do same with Tauchman. I think they are going to just punt 2026 spending. They will pickup Robert's option, maybe sign a bullpen arm or scrap heap starter and call it good.
  13. Good range on popups, decent arm, really poor going to his left on balls tho.
  14. Probably will be back first week of September. Oh well, hurts us a bit short term but now we can get a look at Mead.
  15. He has a 104 wRC+ as he finally was able to get over that league average hump last week. FGs tends to think he's just a mediocre 2B (-1.6 runs below average) rather than a butcher and he gets the positional bonus from being able to play there, albeit below average. Tied with Chase at 1.2 fWAR. Not a bad season at all for Sosa, he's certainly taken a step forward.
  16. Some crazy stats this series. That was the first time angels had lost 1-0 with one hit since 2006 Sept -- against, the Sox. FG started that one according to angels broadcast.
  17. Quero and Teal had shitty games today as well. Oh well. It happens. Keep winning series.
  18. In Will's defnse, if taylor wasn't available, he had no options. I bet they planned to use vasil in the 7th and 8th but obviously he was needed ealier.
  19. It kinda sucks we don't have anybody better down on the farm for the bullpen, even in a rebuilding period.
  20. Puzzling decision. Venable is doing a good job but some of his in game decisions are head scratching.
