I work for myself and if you've seen Jackie Brown, my job is a lot like Max Cherry's. I wait for someone to walk into my office, get some excitement, and put my feet up until the next one.

some yakkety sax there by the Tribe, 2-2 in the 5th. Don't know why but this feels like a blow out win. We get to Kumar early and win like 8-4.

Not back related. He took a nasty foul ball off his lower leg last night and was pulled. Sounded like he tried to tough it out today but the smart thing is to sit. This game doesn't mean much in the grand scheme and Acuna can fill a roll hopefully.

Roch gets a couple weeks in Winston Salem then a month in Durham to close it? Hopefully rakes and looks ready for a promotion sometime next year.

Vibes are so high
Crazy how the "old guys" on this team are like 32-33. Fun roster.

It's kinda hard to add a Lee type on March when you've got so much roster flux, but yea. He stinks. He's not good. Probably one of the worst defensive catchers in AAA.

I'm surprised they called up Quero, they really hate Lee. I just hope Quero gets most the starts, he needs the PA. Romo can be the twice a week guy.

You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill—he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it, and so pass to genuine vindictiveness. But get up, sit down, I beg you. All this, too, is deceitful posturing..." -- The Brothers Karamazov, Fyodor Dostoevsky

well so far he's shown neither control nor elite changeups. 4.4 walk rate in MLB per 9 and -.4 runs on his changeup. I root for the guy, hope he can succeed, but his profile has a sliver of an opening to success.

I feel like Kumar Rocker has been around for 20 years and he's pitched like 100 innings. I remember hearing about this guy his senior year in HS and then something went down with the Mets on draft night and blah blah blah.

More than that. It looked like a high ankle to me. I'd say 4-6 weeks at best. This s%*# can linger. But as @Bonemer, I Hardly Know Her said at least now he can have a productive offseason if nothing else. Everything was fubar for him this year starting with probably over training in the offseason and then ramping up too fast for the WBC. Teal is a very intense guy, I think he was desperate to be a part of this team and maybe was just squeezing the bat, his body and his mind a little too hard. You guys are dogging that video of him on the training machine but that machine is designed to safely test forces, the machine gives way, the ground does not. That training had nothing to do with his injuries. Adding mass and ramping up too quickly and just bad luck was the cause.

Why? He was replacement level before the injury. He hasn't thrown a ball in anger in what, 15 months? There is zero reason to expect him to contribute anything this season, and not much optimism beyond it, unless somehow he starts throwing 94-95 instead of 90-91.
