  1. if you're loyal to the sox you can basically do anything short of sustained sexual harassment or embezzlement and keep ur gig.
  2. someone on lookout landing wrote a great essay about how bad baseball is similar to a chronic illness in all the worst ways. luckily with bad baseball you can just turn it off.
  3. 1 fucking run. WE NEVER HAVE BIG INNINGS.
  4. if they get swept imma start rooting for losses. but we ain't there yet so go sox.
  5. let's make it one loss then.
  6. Is it better to have loved and lost then never loved at all? I'm sure we here at Soxtalk can answer this question once and for all.
  7. Hire Joe. It doesn't matter if it doesn't work, because it's not a time to do nothing. That's not working either.
  8. But they happy cashing JRs checks. The Hahn defense force using his apparent acquiescence to JR on hiring a manager isn't quite the get out of jail card they think.
  9. How about with what's her name?
  10. touche. Trade that aussie as well we got.
  11. But one time a bad team with a -50 RD turned it around! Nah, play the percentages. Sell off Gio, maybe Lance, see what you can get for Kimbrel and whoever else has any value in a package.
  12. I really DGAF I'm laughing at this shit. I'm just glad they shit the bed in June and May instead of September so I don't have to waste anymore time.
  13. YOUR BULLPEN IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR OFFENSE AND OUR OFFENSE IS MANURE.
  14. Well Siesta Key is nice and the guys can pickup some slumpbusters there perhaps.
  15. Just post this lineup in the "what in the hell is wrong with this team" and lock the thread.
  16. That is an absolutely terrible look by Stone. IIRC he's had some Twitter dust ups prior to this. When guys like WSD and Jim and others turn on the (looking worse every game) rebuild and there's 10k at the park things will really hit the fan. If Stone can't resist taking potshots at Twitter nobodies how is he gonna take it when the blue checks come for him and the Sox? Not well. Off field drama might be the only quality entertainment we see on the South Side this summer.
  17. only us Sox fans would be subject to a GM with a lifetime get out of jail free yard and yet also one completely afraid to change things up and admit failure in time to save a season.
  18. i think it's a complete failure to reorganize the training and conditioning program in anticipation of the lockout. you've got so many little muscle strains and shit that usually would have long ago been worked out of the athletes. I disagree with Ray that playing baseball is easy on the body compared to other pro sports. Even when I was 21 playing 5 games in 5 days was not easy and you are always somewhere less than 100% with a banged up finger or bad strawberry or stiff neck. Making these calls on when to hold guys out and determining when they are more seriously hurt isn't easy so the key is to prevent it in the first place.
  19. I hold my likes to be self evident personally.
