  1. Shockingly he's gotten in 51 games already and has -1 fWAR. Such a stupid signing we really just light money on fire with these "vet stop gaps" when the younger cheaper guys are already around. We aren't winning anything I don't get it. It's likely to just save face but Getz is so bad at scouting these vets that only 1/4 or so is actually a positive WAR player. He hit on Tauchmann, he struck out on half a dozen others.
  2. Our old friend Bassitt takes on our new friend Civale. How about a win?
  3. I don't understand any need to declare victory. Of course I'm also no longer 20 and don't really measure myself by "winning" player evaluation arguments. . At 100 hours the pilot knows nothing, at 1000 hours the pilot knows everything, at 10000 hours the pilot knows nothing.
  4. Someone said "water finds its level" but completely misunderstood that Andrew's level over 2000 PA is replacement level.
  5. I think there is but it's not high. I'd trade Beni's salary for Robert's extension 10/10. We'll see how they play it.
  6. Yea he's our best defensive CF and that's the only reason to even play him. Just get him moved ASAP after he plays hopefully two healthy weeks.
  7. That's pathetic. Someone should send Ishbia a strongly worded letter. I'm not joking.
  8. I'd like to see this lineup quite a bit, with Tauchman at DH: Tauchman, Chase, Robert, Beni, Vargas, Sosa, Colson, Baldwin, Teel/Quero Let Sosa work in at 1B as long as mentally he's ready. It won't hurt to get him ready for a long term utility role if his bat has peaked around league average, that's a decent utility guy. Let Vargas just get every chance to swing or swim over at 3B the rest of the way. Let Baldwin work in for Tauchman and Beni so they can try and stay healthy for any trade value. We need to eat money and get Beni off this roster.
  9. decent game tonight. he's playing a very good SS. How come we never really got a scouting report on that at charlotte? sorta odd imo. you'd think someone would have seen him and saw him more than holding his own. maybe the sox decided to walk quietly here which if so not bad -- he's clearly not overwhelmed defensively. If anything he plays up to the speed at the MLB level.
  10. Colson is a stud, I've seen enough. even if he doesn't hit at all like 220 he can do 220/300/430 and play a solid SS for 4 WAR.
  11. sosa showing improved discipline and the umps fucking him.
  12. nice we had that luck coming after yesterday's babip.
  13. Nice play Rojas, if that's your last memory, cheers.
  14. sosa doesn't make that play, we have a pretty decent IF now.
