  1. As I said in his thread, no problem with it. This is a marathon not a sprint and he's been playing hard.
  2. Sox need to go 16-16 to avoid 100 losses. Shane Smith on the bump for Sox. Chase, Vargas, Quero, Sosa, Robert, Mead, Taylor, Lee, Baldwin. Will said we'll see the lefties later in the game.
  3. We have nothing even close to a MLB ready CF prospect. It's 20 million dollars. That's the cost of an average regular these days. Pickup the damn option. If they don't I will have a hard time being a fan next year.
  4. another day off for him, I don't mind it.
  5. Robert seems like a guy that takes failure personally. The best athletes are just those that can shake it off but even in pro sports those guys makeup maybe 1/4 or so of the total. The rest of these guys have self doubt every day, just like the rest of us. A guy like Meidroth I don't think feels any pressure. He's always been the kid that had to do everything perfect at his size. A guy like Robert however you can dream on, and that pressure can deflate performance.
  6. He's hitting 278 with RISP. If he hit like that all the time he's right back to 5 WAR. His "clutch" isn't an issue.
  7. Funny One Dog story, first game my mom went to, I was about 8, during warmups a guy was standing so still for so long in the OF she asked my dad why there was a statue on the field. It was Lance Johnson.
  8. He looks refreshed. I wonder if the weight of being labelled a "bust" and the almost certain trade was hindering his performance. It's a rate stat, but he's been on pace for about 4 fWAR going on 6 weeks now. Basically he's gone from replacement to almost on the verge of a decent season at 1.3. He'll probably finish around 1.8 which while poor for his talent, certainly isn't a horrible effort and is worth picking up his option off.
  9. His raw power reminds me of both Carlos Lee and Belle. Q had to work for a lot his bombs. Colston seems to prefer the no doubters.
  10. Bro we need like 25 WAR from pitching. We are projected to have like 5. Even if you sign two TOR types for 20 million AAV we ain't even close to a WC.
  11. only 5th worst RD now. It's too bad we won't spend 40+ million as it sure as hell would get us closer to 80 wins than not.
  12. you better have your head on a swivel down the 1st base side when Colson is batting. He's going to hit some nasty balls into the dugout over his career.
  13. It's telling that two years in a row Sox don't really any juice late. It's like when I hire a new better scout in OOTP and he tells me all the guys I thought were 40/55 are now 30/35. We have no upper minors depth at all, which Getz, of course, had a large part in under the prior regime. Really he gets next year imo. Time to s%*# or get off the pot. Min to keep going would be like 70 wins imo.
  14. We have like maybe 4 guys in the entire 26 man roster pitching wise that might be worth anything long term. I know you don't sign bullpen arms in rebuild years but goodness man, we got a long way to go. Most teams that hit on guys like Crochet aren't trading them until their walk year (if even) for reasons. Our org however is constantly needing to get anything they can for them.
  15. TBH it is football season starting Saturday. Cya next year Sox.
  16. I'm not suggesting that's the best idea but if that's how it shakes out that's fine. We need to find OF, we have a decent IF group.
  17. This fucking bum has had more words wasted on him than actual useful WS players. I can't wait until he sucks again next year so we can all just put this to bed.
  18. I don't think it's that deep. Walking into your job when you're losing every day sucks. When you go to LA, and suddenly you're on a winning team of course it's a breath of fresh air. Kopech clearly didn't have something the Sox just missed, he's just not very good and like all mediocre pitchers occasionally he'll have a decent stretch.
  19. Saw that as well. The way they are playing they will pass it within the next two weeks. Good saddle JR with that record.
  20. The run sequencing is getting a little spooky. It's like if they don't score in the first few innings they tend to start pressing and than don't do jack s%*#. If they do score, they relax and score more. Young team I guess.
  21. it's teh bottom of the fucking 8th??????????????????
  22. Chase is going to be pretty heavily reliant on drawing walks. So far he's done a pretty good job but he's never gonna hit more than 5-8 HR a year.
  23. who the f*** is pitching for us?
