  1. Didn't TA sorta apologize for his bat flip? Was that a thing? I can't remember.
  2. this is pro ball not some summer league or college team. this has already been handled and the team will you know, move on together. Yermin already showed up late once this year and TLR let him off pretty easily so I'd imagine TLR was a little ticked he swung through a take sign but you know what who the hell cares. as I've said a million times each of these guys is more mentally tough and more socially adaptable than almost all other people on earth.
  3. lol this is nothing. thank god it's not an off day. this team is rolling this shit is just something for the twitterati chattering class to mew over.
  4. I mean if he gave him the take sign and he didn't take that's a problem. Jose can smooth things over. This isn't a big deal.
  5. Grass is always greener somewhere else:
  6. Good, document all the reasons to suspend their entire team the rest of the season. Premeditated changes in order to bean the opposition should be a death penalty level offense, no? I'm only half kidding. There is no way this is actually their plan, right?
  7. Eaton just the other day said that Jose is the "standard here" so he certainly knows his place in the leadership pecking order. That said, Eaton did win a championship with the Nats and had a big role in that post season success, he had an OPS of nearly 1000 in the WS -- so he has some gravitas in the clubhouse I'd imagine -- with all the players, regardless of race or background.
  8. I was thinking Sheets should get a look. Seems he's doing OK in the outfield and his bat can't be any worse than Lamb's I'd guess.
  9. I'd be fine with 1.5 fWAR from Nick this year. The big thing is to just not have any big craters in the position players. Just sprinkle in some XBHs once and awhile and play acceptable defense at 2B.
  10. Maybe but it doesn't explain a ball 3 inches off the plate getting called a strike against Yermin. The rub for me on that particular call was that Happ had absolutely no control and that was obvious to everybody watching -- and yet the ump bent over backwards on 3-0 to give him a pitch that far off the plate? Just doesn't make any sense. Maybe if that was Greg Maddux the ump is thinking in the back of his mind to give him the benefit of the doubt but Happ was all the fucking place.
  11. Just based on watching most the games this is completely expected. The umps have been fucking horrible and lately it seems quite a few of the misses have been in counts where it would have been a strikeout or walk and completely changed the complexion of an inning against Chicago.
  12. Yea exactly one side is in a title fight the other is a bottom feeder. That's why if they Sox do get thrown out no fucking warnings just immediately toss Pineda.
  13. Looked like the ole "what are you gonna do" motion followed by a "fuck off" to the Twins to me.
  14. Between Yermin, Yoan, Grandal and Vaughn you get quality, long PAs more often than not. That puts a lot of pressure on the opposing pitchers especially the 2nd and 3rd times through when they start to get more dangerous. Robert was putting together great ABs before he got hurt as well and Mendick more often than not gives a good AB. It's really amazing how all of a sudden the Sox have this strong core of guys that are just professional hitters. The Twins announcers were commenting on it last night. It's hard on the opposition.
  15. Lets not do this again hey umps? https://mobile.twitter.com/UmpScorecards/status/1394671731592290309/photo/1
  16. I watched that shot 4 or 5 times of them in the dugout, other than Giolito with a smirk on his face I'm not sure anybody had much visible emotion going on. Eaton wasn't yelling or anything. Mountain out of a molehill.
  17. I enjoyed the bitching about Grandal taking walks at his salary when he scored on a grand slam moments later. Not making outs matters, in fact, it's quite important, go figure.
  18. Go .500 from here on out and that is 85-75 with two to play. At this point 90+ is easily in sight. Obviously things can change but team looks good about 25% through the race.
  19. The Sox are 4-0 against the Twins and have outscored them 42-17.
  20. A lot of good things happened. Kudos to Madrigal on a big night same with Yoan and many others. Mendick GS, Grandal continues to just get on base, Vaughn continues to show out. Yermin, yada yada yada. Even Leury joined the party. Billy gave us a lot of fun in 10 seconds of baserunning on a ball into the corner that we'll not soon forget. Dallas was solid, bullpen eh, did well enough. FUCK THE TWINS!
