  1. Thing about this team is even the scrubs can contribute once and awhile. Sox have not had a team like that very often in the last 20 years.
  2. It would be quite boring if we all agreed on everything. Lot of us been here for over a decade now and at least usually it's not personal just good old fashioned strong debate. TLR is a stuck in his ways old drunk but I will defend him as long as I see good baseball two days out of three on the field. Some argue that's on the players only to play, but I feel I've seen too many talented but under achieving players to think the manager doesn't have an impact on everyday readiness. If the old fuck managed to bring his boys together accidentally or otherwise well maybe it's meant to be.
  3. Probably the new reality most nights with the amount of talent graduated up to Chicago the last few years. Hopefully some of the A ball types step up to fill the void. Burger is interesting. He can't actually play a MLB 3B tho, right? Still might be interesting trade bait if he continues to hit. One team might go fishing for that "1st round promise".
  4. Nah, this team has too much talent. I'm reminded of Ozzie's response to if there was a "curse" on the South Side after so many years of losing: "no curse, just too many horse-bleep teams". This is a great team and barring injuries to the rotation or another couple key position players will contend for 90+ wins and a WS appearance.
  5. This team has too much SP to go on a long losing streak. Things can change but with Kopech as the defacto 6th starter this is a dominating rotation.
  6. The Sox won't be the first or last pro club in history that simultaneously loathes and performs for their hated boss. Give me the hated manager that has the guys fired up to show him what they got any fucking day over the limp wristed Ventura who guys like Eaton walked all over time and time again and set a poor example for their squad.
  7. The Sox quietly are very good at developing and finding useful catchers.
  8. Are you kidding me? Right now like it or not this is the perfect storm. You've got a young, talented, cocky team, you've got a manager that is out of touch, older, with his own history of bad behavior -- but that remains not aloof (similar to Ozzie) but just sorta on his own island but that has the gravitas of a HOF plaque and three rings on his fingers. It's like the frat united against the stick in the mud dean where after a bunch of hi-jinx at the end the credits roll and they show him doing a keg stand with the frat as everybody chants in unison. This is perfect. The Sox have stumbled into something here. Not to mention they are creating a ton of new fans. This is great, let it ride.
  9. This team has a travelling rock star vibe headed to NYC. What a time to be alive.
  10. TLR being the "bad cop" in the clubhouse, on a team with this much talent, is sorta perfect. Takes all the pressure off the players and unites them. I don't agree with what TLR said about Yermin but I don't think it hurts the club. In fact, it helps them. Similar to Ozzie's rants. This is quite the season we've got going on the South Side. I think I'm just going to enjoy the ride and not try and micro analyze much anymore. Just win baby. @DirtySox -- totally. I'm not saying TLR did it on purpose, but he certainly united the club and Giolito his ace went out and performed for him today through the "turmoil". lol, this is a meme:
  11. I got busy with work after falling asleep at like 6pm last night watching the game. Woke up to see them blow it wasn't able to watch today. Glad they won. Getting old has some good parts, but the tiredness when you drink on consecutive weekdays ain't one of them. Few things stand out in those photos: 1) Dylan Cease looks all of 16. 2) Madrigal is a small guy but jesus he has massive hands. If he puts on some upper body strength maybe he can start flipping some more doubles into the gaps. 3) Jesus Collins' forearms are massive. Hopefully he gets some more run one way or another and isn't just trade bait. I think he could be a pretty useful player, especially if Grandal gets hurt, as will def happen at some point in the next two years. GO SOX! Glad they fight through adversity. The TLR / Yermin thing was a topic on sports radio out here for a full session this afternoon. Wild. Not only do they rarely talk baseball (Seahawks all the time, every season) but to talk Sox baseball was just...a mind trip.
  12. Bad night for Vaughn
  13. Told you they would bury them again.
  14. two bad ABs from Eaton.
  15. yermin almost just killed a man.
  16. Moncada really needs to give more effort.
  17. lance's belly looks bigger. clearly he's been drinking with TLR after the games.
  18. Sano is an example of what happens when a manager has lost his team. The play from Simmons last night in the late innings as well.
  19. umps are so bad I'm now shocked pitches an inch or more off the zone are balls.
  20. good rip from Grandal. 2nd time around this guy is going to get destroyed.
  21. damnit eaton expanded the zone there.
