  1. Colome at 95 according to the announcer. Another mediocre breaking ball but TA makes a tough play in the hole look easy. Could have backhanded it but got around on it and flipped an accurate throw over.
  2. Colome's off speed just does absolutely nothing in this desert air.
  3. Bummer putting it exactly were he wants it so far.
  4. not a great AB from Robert, flies out on three straight pitches to left. Was way out in front on everything.
  5. and that is the difference between eloy and Delmonico, eloy gets jammed a bit but still hits it's it very hard and CF is unable to make the diving catch, double for Eloy with 2 outs.
  6. Man if Delmonico had just a little more bat speed he'd be a useful player. Warning track shot.
  7. TA is doing a nice job staying down on the ball and catching it under the bill of cap: not doing his off to one hand side shit. Quick inning for Kuechel getting a lot of soft ground balls.
  8. Nice play by TA to get the easy hop on the charge and throws him out. Runner over to 2nd with one out.
  9. Not really sure why he's still out there honestly. It's March 2nd. 3 innings is more than enough.
  10. TA rolls over on one and hits a two hopper to 3rd for the final out.
  11. Knock on serious wood but the injury situation so far is pretty much ideal. Nothing serious and the minor stuff Gio and Grandal reported is already pretty much behind them. That said, someone needs to start fining Robert $1K everytime he slides headfirst in spring.
  12. Boomers on message boards man. There's another one on another baseball board that personally signs all his posts with his real name like he's writing a fucking letter to the editor.
  13. He's not in camp and hasn't played an organized baseball game in 3 years. The latest report on him is from last fall where he was unable to even play in instructional games because of yet another injury. If you go to his social media it's him travelling and having fun, probably on the last remaining of his 3 million or so signing bonus. Hopefully he put some cash away and paid off a modest house as this guy is looking at an uncertain future.
  14. Exactly. The White Sox seem to be indicating (by saying nothing) that Jake is pretty much done with baseball and they are going to give him his space. For his part Jake's social media is basically 90% him and his GF travelling and partying and 10% anything pro baseball related. Put 2 and 2 together and it doesn't really seem like a guy "all in" on continuing his pro career. I'd imagine he hangs around the back fields of AZ this year and maybe gets assigned to a low level affiliate where he perhaps can start to rebuild -- perhaps. There's a pretty good chance he just quietly retires sometime this summer imo.
  15. not bad for youtube imo. it's not going to be some super scripted shit.
  16. he shouldn't be any worse than average, but at most he'll be plus a couple runs defensively. His main impact will be with the bat. If he hits 290/380/540 he's a star and if he only hits 270/340/500 he's a solid everyday regular.
  17. I was really drunk last night, bored, and found this long ringer article on Vaughn and how college 1B taken that high are actually good bets to overperform projected WAR based on a position neutral projection for the slot. Basically it boiled down to when college 1B are taken that high they sure as shit can hit and if they can they will be decent MLB players at worst. Looks like Vaughn will be another one.
  18. looked it up, robert's hr would have been 68th in highest exit velocity in 2019, not bad. It's .5 mph faster than any ball JD Martinez hit last year, for example.
  19. lol I just got back from the gym on a fairly lazy saturday and was reading the thread in bed on my tablet (it's nap weather here), saw that exit velocity and thought, "huh, that's gotta be one of the hardest hit balls all spring". I'm sure it will be, mercy.
  20. Palka is projected for an 83 wRC+, Yermin 88, Davidson 93. They are certainly more similar than dissimilar.
  21. Yermin is the latest in a long line of positionless AAAA types to get the fanbase excited. Oof. Davidson...Palka...Yermin. Yermin slightly more intriguing than those guys, but not by much. ZIPS essentially sees him as a replacement level DH.
  22. just to triple iterate that why the hell do you trade a critical backup catcher for a bullpen piece right now?
