  1. Yea unless he gets a big league offer I doubt he refuses an assignment in Charlotte. We'll see. He's been really bad outside his initial success before "the Book" was out on him.
  2. i see this chick in a lot of reaction vids and everytime I see her I want to just pinch her lips and see if the filler starts coming out.
  3. Only means anything if they accomplish great things on the field but I agree. The video with Jose and Eloy certainly touched on the leadership and culture emerging in the clubhouse.
  4. I have no idea at all what the parameters of this deal would even be. I'd assume Moncada wants to be getting a new deal when he's 28-30. So I'd think the best Chicago could do would be a 6 year extension or so. That would extend his control out two more years no? If it happens hell yea but this deal is going to be much harder to negotiate than the Robert, Eloy and previous extensions.
  5. If he could actually hit 260-270 he wouldn't be a horrible 5th OF to stash in Charlotte. Not sure he can.
  6. EE has been one of the best hitters in the AL three years running. He's going to (rightfully) get a long leash if he's struggling into June. That said, Yermin is an asset and I'd be bummed if they don't realize it at some point and they just lose him for nothing or add him into a trade as an afterthought.
  7. They tried to "unjuice" the balls. Little did they know Yermin comin'.
  8. Was pnoles b****ing about it? That dude is the pied piper of the new generation of zoomer Sox fans.
  9. Yea get ready for it. Soxtalk was smart to do the upgrade last year.
  10. I don't think there is any correlation at all between a good spring and the regular season. In fact there might be a negative correlation. It's been proven a million fucking times that other than health, spring games do not predict anything. Only thing I'm looking for is the pitchers to be throwing on their schedules, without setbacks, getting their innings and stamina built, and then the position players staying healthy and getting their bodies ready for 162 game grind. Maybe on top of that you look to see some young guys not looked overmatched, although even with that you never know if they are working on something or the guy they are facing is working on something and so even that must come with a huge grain of salt.
  11. furthermore there is a SCHEDULE that every player is on for their workouts. Some guys will need to get in there, get their 2 PAs, and then go do their lifts or data session or trainer session or whatever. yikes. Some folks are really ignorant and looking silly this morning. The games are FAKE guys. They don't count. The only thing that matters is being ready opening day.
  12. didn't count, but yea, it happened. can't play the games that count before the ones that don't. we got that going for us.
  13. lol, hey we hope. dude's arm is made of balsa wood and 3M tape blue tape tho.
  14. We'll see if he pitches over 100 innings this year. Rotation really needs a bit of a boost from an unexpected source. Maybe that's Gio early and Dunning or Kopech late.
  15. I'm shocked MLB.tv hasn't realized they could make 20-30 bucks a person selling a static camera view behind home of all Spring games.
  16. eloy's english is impressive. he uses contractions well for a non native speaker and that's unusual. impressive dude all around. the beat on that vid at like :50 is slick.
  17. true, if he's a closer. If he's just a solid setup what's the best case savings? I dunno, I'm not saying it's a bad move or good one. I think it's an unnecessary move.
  18. How do those moves have anything to do with this one? Those moves sucked. This one imo isn't great either. Doesn't suck, but it's not a on the face great move either.
  19. if you have T Mobile mlb.tv is free and you can use various ways to get around any blackouts.
  20. It does indeed, but that seems like at best a 50/50 proposition. This is a bridge too far imo. Paying Bummer's salary in arb if he's an elite closer on a playoff team should be ashtray money imo and not something you hedge against if you expect revenues and payroll to rise accordingly.
  21. No game, darn. The uber rare rainout in spring training. But as the locals tell you it does happen. Gio with some positive words today:
  22. I don't get the need to do this and to me it speaks to the paucity of funds expected going forward. It's a needless commitment in hopes of saving what, 10 million at most if he's some stud setup guy?
  23. easy to "fix" things in the video room. much harder to take that to the field and perform under the lights while "turning your brain off". We'll see how the year goes. Lopez had the worst 96 mph fastball in baseball seemingly so any spin rate increase is going to help.
