I think it's more of a there's been a problem with the left handed "power" hitters the Sox have brought in. Moncada doesn't seem to have much of a problem pulling it out to RF.
He's got what, 4 years of arb left? That said, if he does complete a miracle turnaround here you'd have to think he'd prefer to stay a Sox and sign a long term extension.
He does look a lot like Verlander when he's pinging in that 97mph fastball up and on the corners. Not amazing secondary pitches just solid but when you have command like that you don't really need much more.
His velocity late last year was certainly up but it wasn't up like it is now where he's throwing 96-97 well after 80 pitches and into the 8th and 9th innings. He's also cleaned up his problems with holding runners. Just an absolute miracle turnaround.
