Tax Day: Sox v. Royals (P: E. Santana)

ha, as a Sox fan not from Chicago I don't GAF about the Cubs. I don't have to deal with their fans and I don't have any "south side pride" outside the Sox. That said, if I grew up in Chicago I can totally get hating the cubs. -

lol, I just turned it on to see the Leury misplay. I said it myself the pitching will be historically bad, FML. -
I think I've looked at his page a lot and agree with most of the monitors: Black Ink Batting - 20 (113), Average HOFer ≈ 27 Gray Ink Batting - 114 (186), Average HOFer ≈ 144 Hall of Fame Monitor Batting - 90 (199), Likely HOFer ≈ 100 Hall of Fame Standards Batting - 47 (107), Average HOFer ≈ 50 JAWS Left Field (8th): 69.4 career WAR / 42.4 7yr-peak WAR / 55.9 JAWS Average HOF LF (out of 20): 65.5 career WAR / 41.6 7yr-peak WAR / 53.6 JAWS There are certainly less deserving guys in the HOF and a 69.4 WAR is nothing to scoff at but for me personally he's just a little short of a HOF career. I understand that this is subjective we could argue all day about it.

If they can go 10-6 maybe they can hover around .500 until July. Doubt it, with this staff you're looking at losses 3 times out of 5 most likely, unless the offense scores > 6. -
Yes he was. Rock was standing on 1st quite a bit, man could work a count and get on. Raines is a borderline HOFer (not quite imo) but is a no doubt HOVGer and his time on the South Side was productive. If the Sox had a few more hitters like Raines the last decade they probably would have another playoff appearance or two.

34 years old with a bad back and bad hip. Good luck. Even if he does get healthy it's unlikely to last.

It's still annoying that Jose insists he's a full time 1B. That has created a roster issue going on three years now. Granted a more talented system could work around the issues but that ain't the Sox. If Jose would just commit to full time DH then you could hide a Palka type (left hand platoon bat in theory) at 1B/DH instead of RF/DH. Whatever, at this point we just need to realize this is still a rebuild year and dead wood won't be cleared out for now. At least some of the kids are producing.

Good luck waiting around. Jay is 50/50 to even play this year IMO.

nice to see.

Missed the game how did Rodon's velocity look?

White Sox have conceeded and are getting back on the bus.

Giolito sucks
-
That's fine but Giolito was historically bad last year, worst pitcher in all of MLB and one of the worst full seasons of all time for a Sox starter. Lopez, as I've said, was cromulent last year and will get a bit of a longer leash. But Lopez looks to have the exact same problems he had last year that limited him much of the year to being effectively a 5th starter and those are his secondary offerings, endurance, and control. You'd hope he'd come out this year and take a step forward with consistency, that obviously has not been the case.

Same, pretty tuned out for the 2nd week of April.
