  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Wouldn't you just prefer we get better talent? We have enough of a project for thibs in Teague. Will that be available around pick #20?
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:27 PM) Yeah, he's just straight awkward out there. And soooooo stupid. Serious Q: Can Thibs fix him?
  3. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) Bryce and Strasburg You realize Stras is a first year arb player next year? He's on the verge of getting paid more in the next 2 years than Sale will get through 2017.
  4. Hated doing so, did so the phone call route since actually going would have involved large amounts of travel. Not sure whether it was appreciated or not.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 05:42 PM) We are talking about literally the most extreme of sample sizes here, but Alexei currently leads the MLB in SS UZR. Like I said, it means literally nothing, but it's ironic to consider nonetheless. He has made some dynamite plays the last few days. The full team has had problems with "Calling for flyballs" including Alexei, and if they don't fix that then someone's going to get killed, but Alexei's been all over that side of the infield so far. He's looked great out there.
  6. QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) And if more people showed up, there would be more money. I understand that it is early, but if the fans aren't excited at the beginning of the year, I doubt when it is hot and or we are 10 games out, they will be coming in droves. Well, you really missed the point (I wonder if you even read the blog honestly) of why I did what I did. That's cool, no worries. I'd be more likely to show up for a game with a team 10 games out and a day where it's 90 degrees than one where the season is 4 days old and there's a chance it'll be 40 degrees.
  7. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 03:59 PM) Thibodeau said Noah suffered setback, likely out vs. Raptors. There's talk that this is "Strategic rest" for him and Deng.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 02:04 PM) They did get right around 25K last year for the same Sunday home game, but it was against the Tigers, so hard to compare. What was the weather like on that specific day?
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) Axelrod beat Felix with probably the worst lineup we can throw together trotted out there. Angel Sanchez hasn't played yet
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 10:48 AM) His play that year was also closer to his Wizards years than any of his years with the Bulls. He obviously had some great games but he really struggled shooting the ball. His legs definitely weren't under him until he got the full summer and training camp to get into basketball shape. That was really obvious when the Magic series rolled around.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 09:55 AM) This is old, but relevant: http://www.niemanwatchdog.org/index.cfm?fu...kgroundid=00629 I've never bought into the wireless hype... it's been years. Shouldn't we be seeing some kind of movement on that front? All we've done is stalled (or stopped) high-speed wired services. alert to NSFW language, NSFW Language alert:
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 10:33 AM) They don't have those numbers available. But by logic, if he built his numbers on first half non-save situations they should be better, not worse, as they would outweight the second half non-save situations, not to mention he would have had more of his save situations in the second half when he was tired. Prior to getting the closer's spot, he had 11 games, 8.2 innings, 0 ER. I think his non-save situation numbers are being blown up by 1 game, May 13 against the Royalsl, which isn't marked as a blown save or a hold so I assume it was a non-save situation...he gave up 6 runs in 0.1 innings. He gave up 16 runs total in non-save situations last year, so yeah, I think that 1 outing is really murdering his numbers in that split.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 10:02 AM) Save situations 3.48 era Non Save 6.75 era I don't suppose you could do the double-positional splits and see "Non-save in the first half"? He won the closers role by being great in non-save situations in April.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 09:22 AM) I don't think there's a competition. That Astros team is one of the worst I've seen in a long time. The Astros have 9 walks and 74 strikeouts in 6 games. (link).
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) Probably 90% or so. In the general scheme of things though, it's no where near game speed. The reality is that there's no substitute for the cardio of a full on 2 hour long game where you run several miles while also jumping and being bumped into.
  16. Who is starting at the same time as Danks now?
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 08:01 AM) This time in a non-save situation, which had been his big hang up to this year. Was reed bad in non-save situations in the first half? I remember him having a great all-around first half then wearing down int he 2nd.
  18. FBI investigation possibility of extortion charges in the Rutgers case.
  19. Axelrod announced as the starter on Thursday, Quintana will open the series against Cleveland (Axe on Normal rest, extra rest for Quintana).
  20. WTF did we spend spring training doing? We look like we had Ozzie Guillen running field drills again.
  21. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) Is it just me or have we had very little luck this year in terms of the wind for home runs and balls landing fair or foul? They don't call it the windy city for nothing.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 03:58 PM) Who's warming up for the Sox? Lindstrom
