Sox best hitter endorses Walker
QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 09:29 PM) But *if* they do turn it around, and then say it was Walker, we can dismiss it And if Walker and Guillen are replaced and they turn it around...clearly they deserve none of the blame.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Except the odds of any of that 25-35% 2011-12 roster turnover being Peavy/Beckham/Rios/Dunn is about 0.5% You know who will fix them? Greg Walker, right? eh? eh?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) What about the talent level? Does that play a role? The offense isn't very good this year, but there are 3 guys that didn't do the job. Next time you're at a game sit next to the dugout. When a White Sox strikes out by swinging at a pitch over his head or pops up just think about how a guy sitting in the dugout is the guy who is totally at fault. I'm extremely confident if the Sox don't change personnel on the field the results at the plate no matter who is coaching them next year will have a familiar look, if not worse. But thanks to the identity of our GM, the White Sox change players more than any other team in MLB.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) Stellar defensive performance? What game were we watching? They were getting penetrated like a 20 dollar whore, the score was 14-0 before anybody really knew what was going on. If you told anyone before the game that the Packers would get to 27, you'd say that the Bears weren't likely to win.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) You get your real knowledge from the opinions of talk radio hosts and call ins, and message board posts. The one thing that never gives you real knowledge is the stat column or wins and losses. The stat column says that this offense has been below average, average, and terrible the last 3 years, especially when you consider that they're in a hitters park. Only 1 year of the last 5 have they been in the top half of the offenses in the AL, while they've been in the bottom 5 three different times, including worst in the AL in 2007.

My endorsement for the next manager...Terry Francona
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) Rumor has it MJ had a lot more to do with keeping players in line than Jackson. If you look at how things were under Doug Collins...or for the Wizards when Jordan was around...the coach really looks key there.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) Such a s*** game. The Bears O line did a wonderful job of jumping offsides and holding multiple times. Frank Omiyale, Chris Williams, GTFO here I dunno...considering everything, I thought the line had a decent game. Cutler had plenty of time most of the game. They couldn't run worth anything, which is on the line, but Cutler had the time he needed.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 05:51 PM) They need to run it and throw more screen plays into the mix to keep the Packers from starting to tee up though. Sucks that Raji got to Cutler on the 1st and goal cause if Cutler could step into it, he would have had Dane for a TD (instead it was almost a pick). The run hasn't been there at all and the Packers are giving them the pass. Until the Packers start really getting pressure...the ball should stay in the air.

My endorsement for the next manager...Terry Francona
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) This. Being able to handle great talent is a skill as well. Phil got MJ to give up the ball, Rodman to stay out of jail, and Kobe and Shaq to not kill each other. Don't underestimate how important Phil Jackson was to those mixes.

Sox best hitter endorses Walker
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) I was Contreras' biggest backer on this board. You don't have to give me a history lesson, but if its all Cooper, what about all the other games Contreras pitched for the White Sox? Why weren't the magical musings of Don Cooper working then? Mainly, IMO, because that's the only stretch he was healthy for.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) I'm not discrediting Contreras at all. What is funny is how trashed Jose Contreras was on this board for years, and now he's a feather in Don Cooper's cap. Because Jose Contreras snapped off one of the best 25-30 game runs anyone has seen.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) When Cutler left the field after the last incompletion to Roy Williams, did he make a jester to get Williams out of the game, and then put up a 1 and a 3 for perhaps Johnny Knox? If he did, then he's nuts. He overthrew Williams. Knox would have had to be 20 yards down the field to catch that.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) Don't understand this defense, we get pressure without blitzing but the qb can pass all over? I think they might need to adjust it a little at least vs the top tier qb's. The argument against that of course is that the defense actually held Aaron Rogers in check last year, 3 different times.

QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 04:34 PM) Funny a current player's endorsement isn't valued as much as a job interview with another team. /ducking And funny how the statements made by the bats of Alex Rios, Adam Dunn, and Gordon Beckham aren't valued.
