  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) Is it his dope dealer or something? The original report suggested that the 2 were related somehow.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 11:11 AM) http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-07...-rehabilitation Well, at least we'll get a few games to look and see if Flowers can be useful at all.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:09 AM) This thread reminds me of the simpsons episode when he made the pig for dinner, and the pig shot out the window, down the street, in the gutter, and finally shot into the ocean or whatever, and the whole time Homer is following it saying "Its still ok, we can still eat it, its still ok, i can clean it off" "It's just a little airborne, it's still good, it's still good." Describing...flying pig or Adam Dunn popup?
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) We sure need any player to perform well in Cleveland
  5. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 01:13 PM) If the White Sox need to be creative next season with their payroll, which I would expect to be reduced with Jackson and Pierre (and possibly Buerhle) coming off the books (I think that's about $12 million, but closer to $10 since the Sox weren't paying all of Pierre's contract)...although if they choose to resign Buerhle, a lot of the money (and then some possibly) saved from Jackson/Pierre would go into him. Assuming that there is a small increase between resigning Buerhle and losing Jackson/Pierre, it's still possible (and maybe likely) that Williams will need to shed additional salary to meet next year's budget and/or to attempt at improving the team. That could mean Quentin still gets moved in the off-season. The same could be said of Danks. If the Sox know they need to shed payroll...I'd say they're much more likely to get high value offers for Danks and Quentin right now than they would be in the offseason. Teams trading for them would get them for 2 pennant races instead of 1, and the Sox would save an extra couple million on this season's salary.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 01:21 PM) Well he's only 27, so he's not too old yet (although I wouldn't say my statement is extremely premature, either). He just has AAAA written all over him IMO. Florida really liked him, and started the 2007 season with him as their starting Cf, but injuries pretty much derailed his next 2 years. By the time 2009 rolled around, Chris Coghlan and Cody Ross had sorta grabbed those spots and De Aza had just fallen behind them on the map. He's always hit well in the minors, a team with really good scouting liked him, but he got hurt right at the point where he got his chance, and he's never gotten another one.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) him and arod can rotate at dh, 3rd. there are plenty of optiions should he go to nyy So that Jorge Posada goes to the bench? Might make sense from a pure numbers perspective, but I wouldn't want to have my at bats dependent on the Yankees willingness to bench Posada.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 10:16 AM) BUT, this doesnt tell me he would accept a deal to play for the Sox. IMO the Yankees make more sense for him right now with Arod being out for a month and a half(if not more) So that he can then be on the bench when the playoffs roll around?
  9. Don't you mean Take on Me? And isn't that only 1 video?
  10. But you said "Videos", not video.
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 02:05 AM) Paul Konerko thinks a lot of him, but I can't say that walker is responsible. Another note: Inge was sent to AAA but must clear waivers. Claim him? Inge's contract has $5.5 mil for 2012 still on the books. Claiming him would involve picking up that money. Let him clear waivers. Then he has to decide what to do. He can go to the Tigers minor league system if he wants to stay there, or he can sign elsewhere for the minimum with the Tigers paying what remains on his deal. I'd take him for the minimum if he were willing.
  12. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 08:05 AM) Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to Bruce f***ing Chen. Duffman the day before, I'll say he was solid. Bruce Chen? Yeesh
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 08:34 AM) and Jackson has been wanted by a lot of organizations. Of course, the issue now is...He's been with 5 and given up on by 4.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 04:02 AM) CHANGES! (Turn and face the strain)
  15. QUOTE (Andrew @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 03:30 AM) I'd seriously DH Teahen over him...everyday...at this point. Sadly, teahen hasn't looked that good or produced that much with the Sox in 2 seasons either.
  16. To answer the title question...the Site owner never liked having subforums. No good reason right now why we can't use the extant threads and forums for trade talk.
  17. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 08:44 AM) Of course not, but I think he'd be willing to waive the option to come across town. Otherwise, I don't make the deal. He's already repeatedly been reported to be uninterested in being traded.
  18. Creating fun new ways to lose! We lost on a strike!
  19. Aggressive slider use, I like, creative
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:53 PM) A few too many pitches for Sale it seemed. If this was the typical Sox at KC extra inning game, Butler will single up the middle here. Sale didn't get much help from the ump or his defense either in this stint.
  21. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) btw, it was a long time coming but Tigers finally DFA Brandon Inge Our next 3b.
  22. Anyone who thinks sale can't cut it as a starter I give you this outing. Just getting stronger as he works the offspeed stuff in. He's not stretched out enough to hold control for 4 innings, but that was a really good outing for "give up anything and you lose" time.
  23. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) So less than Dunn, Rios + Peavy. They'd be at about $48 if Meche hadn't retired.
  24. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:35 PM) Except our Adam Dunn gets paid about the same as most of KCs payroll! KC is at $36 million right now.
