QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) I'm confident that Humber is Loaiza part 2. He's juicing and will fall apart next year?

Danks to DL, Sox call up Hector Santiago
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) Addison Reed being called up would have been awesome, and be can also go 2-3 innings, but I'd rather have Santiago than anyone pitching in AAA. No reason to burn an option on a guy like Reed just yet.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) I agree. I think Lilly's is too long as well. Dunn's is just funky. They all should copy Paulie Lillibridge's swing this year seems like one of the shortest on our roster.

QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) Thank God. He's like the Jesse Orosco of hitters. There's something in his game that's kept him employed for 23 years, but that doesn't make him a HOFer. In the fangraphs world, Omar has 48.5 WAR in his career. While that's not first ballot, it's at least borderline...and interpreting it is hampered by the fact that there isn't good defensive video for most of teh 90's when he played his best defensive ball. When you factor that in, he ranks well.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) He's not a HOFer. Once guys like Hawk start saying a guy is a first-ballot HOF-er, they're probably right...because the HOF voters are a lot of old baseball people, often like Hawk.

QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Is anyone else tired of Hawk's constant "First Ballot HOFer Omar Vizquel" talk? It really annoys me when he talks about the guy like he's one of the all-time greats. You could compare him to Ozzie Smith, but Ozzie was a freaking wizard with the glove. He had two more GG's even while playing four less seasons. Either way, I've never seen Omar as a HOFer at all, much less a first ballot guy. Anyone agree? I've heard a lot of people say that Omar was better than Ozzie, just less flashy/showy about it.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) AJ's been really good lately. Since May 9 he has put up an .884 OPS.

QUOTE (elgonzo4sox @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) If he keeps this up, Kenny will put him on the waiver wire, hoping that some in-the-running NL team that needs a LH bat for the stretch run and beyond will pick up his contract, just like Kenny did with Rios from Toronto. But 3+ years left makes it a long shot... Everyone gets put on the waiver wire, not everyone gets claimed.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) omar ruined that inning with a bad at-bat the day off for morel is not a bad idea as he played the whole last two games. I rather Teahen been there over Omar though I'd actually rather have Teahen over Dunn Teahen is in there at 3b. Omar is playing SS and giving Alexei the day off.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) It seems every memory in my head of Beckham hitting a HR or a rope into the OF is from a hanging curveball or slow slider or basically anything but a fastball. That's what I recall too...not him hitting fastballs from anyone.

A 4 pitch walk to the guy hitting before Konerko? That doesn't seem smart.

Danks to DL, Sox call up Hector Santiago
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 02:00 PM) I guess Tony Pena will be activated from the DL tomorrow and Santiago will head back to B'ham. Someone said in another thread that Pena had an injury setback and it'll still be a while for him.

Not sure he has the full tilt breaking ball working yet, but an easy quick 123 inning for Philip.

Danks to DL, Sox call up Hector Santiago
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 26, 2011 -> 01:44 PM) Why this guy instead of Infante or addison Reed? I'd have to guess it's because he's stretched out and able to go multiple innings today if needed.
