Enough with the hyperbole
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:46 AM) I'm fine with following rules, but let me throw out some examples that I see on here for a little clarification: - Adam Dunn is terrible at baseball - Ozzie Guillen is the worst in-game manager at baseball (I believe that's sqwert's favorite line) - Morel looks like a pitcher at the plate Would those be considered "hyperboles" in this case? You're smarter than this fathom, come on. Here's the easy answer...if you're saying those things and Balta is around, will he immediately reply with 15 different statistics that the person writing them didn't bother citing?

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 06:29 AM) Here is a non-scientific non-political study conducted by me, with no methodology other than logic. And it's probably the ONLY non-political study you will ever find on this particular subject. If it turns out in a few years that companies can save themselves truckloads of money by dropping their insurance...they will. If it turns out in a few years that companies cannot save themselves truckloads of money by dropping their insurance...they will not. How's that for scientific? So wait, there are 2 possible options for a decision? And it's a decision people/companies might have to make in the future? You know what would be really cool? If there was a way of evaluating what decision those companies might make. That would be a really useful guide. We could do things like look at past cases, or figure out intelligent ways to evaluate decision making, or even look at the bill and do the math ourselves. We could even call it a study.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 01:04 AM) Loved the Butler pick. I read he wants to be a starting NBA 2 guard, but I think he's a great option/fit as a backup for Deng right now. And the Bulls REALLY need that. Yeah...a guy who plays 5-10 minutes a game to spell Deng really was a big need for the Bulls last year.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 06:08 AM) From the Bulls perspective taking Mirotic is very understandable considering the success they've had with Asik. They better hope that he doesn't get settled in Madrid however otherwise you're looking at a Fran Vazquez scenario all over again. Still at that point of the draft, he's pretty good value. I think the Bulls are 100% considering this a long-term asset, along with the Charlotte Pick. They know they need roster spots right now and they need trade assets, and they have both. If he comes over in a couple years and the Bulls are still holding his rights, fine, but for pick 28 and a 2nd rounder, that fills a need for the Bulls.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) I don't know. I guess they loved Mirotic that much. The Bulls' window isn't exactly large, it would have been much smarter to take a more impact player like Brooks with the 23rd. Just hope he's there at 30. With a pg who should have just finished college, their window could be quite long. But if not, a rookie 23rd pick who plays 7 min a game won't change things that much.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Yeah, why did they not just take a team need in Brooks? Presumably they really liked this guy and really wanted te roster spot to play the market later. I will never get mad again for how a post20 pick is used.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) KC Johnson is reporting the trade is true. Well KC is 2 trades ahead of espn, but a European makes a ton of sense there for the Bulls.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) You don't think the other 5 guys are cool with changing up their routines so an off injured player who came here two years ago and has made roughly 10 starts? The starting 5 made sacrifices for the team. Jake needs to do the same. I'm not sure if he did, and even if so, what is supposed to say? No screw you I'm starting? Yeah, he could have said the latter.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) I wouldn't go that far. If I'm Utah, I like Jefferson/Kanter pairing up for the long-run. They may also need to move one of those other guys' contracts to get under the cap next year or after.
