  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) Cubs fans HATE Quade. Yeah, I got that from my dad when visiting as well.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Hawk would rather face Cabrera than Victor. Wow that's stupid. Cabrera when he knows Jackson doesn't have to throw him a strike against a RHP against the left-hand hitting Martinez with no place to put him and 3 runners on...it's a lot closer to balanced there. Especially with Victor being hot lately.
  3. It's remarkable how much the bunt helped Jackson there. Moronic.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) Nice bunt now watch a team score with 1 out man on 3rd unlike the Sox. Cabrera and Martinez is a challenge, but I'm much happier facing them with 2 outs and a base open.
  5. I couldn't be happier about the Tigers bunting there. Especially with a lefty up. Jackson was just as likely to walk that guy as retire him.
  6. Well, um, at least Jackson isn't walking people this inning.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) 80+ pitches in three innings, and only 2 R. I don't think I have ever seen that before. Ok Hawk. Seriously, I think Jackson's probably done this before. If the HR had stayed in the park this would be on par with his no hitter.
  8. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) When did Michael Blanke get promoted? Yesterday, 3:17 p.m.
  9. Nice catch Brent. I'm stunned he's in the lineup today.
  10. Teahen 5/27 since coming in, a whopping .575 OPS. Struck out tonight.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Yes, get over the fact that LeBron did not sign with the Bulls last summer. That's where 99% of the hate comes from. He went to Miami. Let it go. I wouldn't dislike him as much if it was any other team. He told me everything I needed when he said he was going to take his talents to South Beach. He wasn't going to Miami, he was going to South Beach. He's there to make things easier, to win a title that isn't hard and has no doubt so that people can stop asking the questions. He's there to party. Miami plays in Miami, not in South Beach, but he plays in South Beach.
  12. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:02 PM) I dont think its the fact a team people dont like might win the title as much as it was how that team was assembled. Everything from the decision to all three players seemingly stringing along the Bulls last summer. Not to mention that a lot of people think the Heat have gotten favorable treatment from the refs during the playoffs, which obviously the NBA has a track record with. I think the heat have gotten favorable treatment because established stars have long since figured out how to game the system to get favorable treatment rather than anything rigged for the Heat.
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Which scares me when you have all in Kenny with Viciedo as his only chit. We seem to have this silly notion that LF is where you stick a slappy leadoff hitter. At what point does Lillibridge become a trade chip too?
  14. THE STEALTH ELF STRIKES AGAIN!
  15. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) think Arizona would surrender Daniel Hudson? Or Chris Young? Actually, they might well give up Chris Young in order to move his salary away.
  16. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) The Edwin Jackson from Edwin Jackson's career says hi back. E-Jax is going back to being E-Jax again. I love this mentality that if someone is getting traded to the Sox we have to start building him up like he's some great player. Or maybe it's just a small amount of success he had last year that tricked people into thinking he's becoming some bona fide star now. The value we gave up for him was fair value for a guy who should be turning into a very good player. Not necessarily an Ace, but that was value you give up for a #2 pitcher.
  17. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) I don't think anyone thought EJ was going to be some sort of star with the Sox, but most expected someone serviceable. Right now, he fools no one. I think a lot of people expected Jackson to be starlike. Otherwise you're crazy to trade a pair of young cheap pitchers for him. Remember, he was an All Star just a year before we traded for him. that's what people were hoping for, the 2009 Tigers version of Jackson.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:23 PM) Can we get Hudson back At least I've finally got most everyone agreeing with me.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:14 PM) It's so bandwagon to say the the second Matrix film was bad, but it really was a top tier action movie. It's just that the expectations were so high after the first one. They're not even really in the same genre. The first one is a more intellectual sci-fi where the second one could be lopped in with a Schwarzenegger movie. Now, the third Matrix I can't defend. Those stupid robot/Mech warrior things were stupid in so many ways. I liked the second one more the first time I saw it, but with repeated viewings the whole Smith/Neo sequences get on my nerve. The Architect scene was my favorite and still is, but everything else in that movie grates on me now.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) Maybe I have been watching the Wire too long, and now The Shield, but would the police even do anything now? They probably don't have a known address on these girls. They probably wouldn't actively do anything, but they'd enter it into a file and if they did something else the lawyers in that case would probably find that police report.
  21. He just needs some pitch other than the fastball and the slider
  22. Balta1701 replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
Yeah, so X: First Class was an excellent movie. Totally worth seeing. Probably the best X Men series movie, the only competition it has is X2, and I think I enjoyed this one more.
  23. Ok Edwin...you get your old rostermate here. How about you prove the Tigers wrong this time?
  24. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 01:39 PM) the pitching in the AL is better than the pitching Morel faced in AAA, yet he's sporting a decent average. NL > AL transition is NOT an excuse for Dunn I don't know that anyone is "Making excuses" for Dunn. At this point, everyone knows we need him hitting...but we're all sorta wondering if its just mental and something that will correct or if Adam Dunn is genuinely physically incapable of being where he was last year...which would be...bad.
