6/11 White Sox vs Texas Rangers, 1:10
If he’s hurt then why isn’t Banks or someone else up? They clearly need the arms just to try playing matchups.

I get Graveman being unavailable after yesterday.

Ok what the heck is with Bummer? Is he hurt?

I would rather go with the guy who didn’t flop two days ago. Even if it works.

Foster, Bummer, and Hendriks should be available along with Lambert right? If Bummer is hurt again why isn’t he on the IL?

I would rather see if Lambert can give me an inning than Sousa right now.

Didn’t Muncy already double earlier that game?

6/10 White Sox vs Texas Rangers, 7:10
I think AJ is just smart. He knows there's a setting for each attitude, and that's why he actually works on TV. He's fun on TV, but there's a little bit of an edge behind it because you know he'll totally get under your skin if he has to. Whether that would work in a managerial setting, I lean towards no, and I also don't get why AJ would want to do it. But unfortunately, when we're talking about guys like AJ or Thome or Konerko or even Ozzie as managerial options, it's like we're in a restaurant trying to pick something off the menu. Not every option is good, not every option fits what we're in the mood for that night, but some may or may not have promise. The White Sox then came in and then said they would like a pile of steamed dog feces mixed with glass shards for dinner, and would like it served family style. Oh and they would like to thank us in advance for picking up the bill.

You are fully correct. There's a 32 at-bat stretch in 2020 where he had 3 home runs on 1-2 counts.

I never said AJ was anything but an ass. I'm ok with saying they both are. (Shouting at his staff to shut up when they try to tell him a rule he doesn't know - yeah that's treating them poorly).

Whether it’s Muncy, Mercedes, his own staff trying to tell him a rule he doesn’t know, a cop in Arizona, or people in the press, look how he treats people around him now. It is darn easy to watch how a guy like him treats people when he could be decent but doesn’t have to be.

How many of those people are being paid to be there?

Max Muncy would like a word.

Ah-ha I found his BS reason. Turner had a .990 OPS in 32 plate appearances with a 1-2 count in 2020. Because he did that in 2020 we had to walk him. (.585 OPS in those situations in 2021.)

He will be in pretty quickly, using Lopez as an opener. Lopez pitched yesterday so unlikely he will go more than 1.

Gavin Sheets Optioned to AAA. Lambert Up.
The pitching matchups for this series are interesting. Perez is tough so far this year for Saturday, but he's also a lefty. Gray vs. Kopech on Sunday is decidedly favoring the White Sox. Not sure how to judge tonight's matchup, guy in his 3rd start vs. guy in his 15th.

Gavin Sheets Optioned to AAA. Lambert Up.
TLR has used Ruiz, Foster, and Sousa on back to back nights so none of them are available tonight. Lopez and Crick also threw on Thursday. If the game is anything other than a narrow White Sox lead in the 7th inning with lefties coming up, you can bet Lambert is in there.

At this level, yes it is. There is a solid chance that what he does right now will taint the rest of his career, and a solid chance that he winds up being the fall guy who is caught without a chair when the music stops this year. He should have resigned in October of 2020, somewhere here will be his last chance to say he’s not ok with how this is going.

Leury Garcia - Tony La Russa and Rick Hahn and beyond....
If we are pondering these things -AJ Pollock was with the DBacks for LaRussa’s entire time there. And Leury sure seems to have LaRussa’s favor as well.

If he thinks he has job security for life, he might well get a big surprise this offseason. This fan base is ANGRY. You get it online, but if you want to believe that those nerds are just losers, you can hear it at the ballpark. You can hear it on the radio when people call in. The team just put out one of those opinion surveys to their season ticket holders last week, which they wouldn’t have done if they weren’t worried about where their fans are. They put up with years of rebuilding because they were promised “multiple championships” among other things. This franchise has at least $160 million on the books next year without including Abreu. If they’re battling the Tigers for third place all year, and don’t have playoff games to use to sell season tickets for next year - however stubborn they want to be they are going to have to have a fall guy, and it’s going to be a bigger name than the hitting coach. If it’s not allowed to be the manager, there is one guy left who won’t get a chair when the music stops.

Yes. Resign. Anything else in that situation is totally being a yes man. The GM should be able to pick and fire a coach. This isn’t complicated. If he doesn’t have that authority any more, either he should resign or he’s a yes man totally accepting this and agreeing that it’s ok.

Leury Garcia - Tony La Russa and Rick Hahn and beyond....
While we don’t and won’t ever know all the details, they were pretty clear that Kelly was signed because LaRussa wanted it. Could others have been that? https://dodgerblue.com/dodgers-rumors-tony-la-russa-driving-force-behind-joe-kelly-signing-with-white-sox/2022/03/20/amp/ If Rick Hahn were to go into an interview with Arte Moreno next year and said “I was told to give the manager the team he wanted, so I did the signings he asked for. I tried to show them the loyal they showed me over 10 years, but it reached a point where it was falling apart so much that I had to demand the power to make changes, and when ownership refused, I finally resigned.” - even if it’s not totally true, it’s believable and dignified enough to believe he would get another job with that reply.

Then resign.

Yesterday was what, example 147 on the list of “days where Rick Hahn should demand to be able to fire his manager and resign if he can’t.” As with the previous 146, he remained a coward, a yes man too happy with his paycheck to say what needs to be said to his boss.

So why did the decision change after the wild pitch? Everyone still was hitting from the same side of the plate and pitching with the same arm. Why did he lie to us about the stat lines?
