  1. Kasper says they think Robert may be ready to DH tomorrow.
  2. Leury Garcia, Josh Harrison, Adam Engel, or Yoan Moncada?
  3. So 14 days until they say he’s ahead of schedule.
  4. Wtf is he able to play or not? If he’s not able to play then keep him on the IL. If he’s ready to go then play him.
  5. Of course then the entire team might be on the restricted list. Healthy, but sending a AA team to Torotno.

    2022 Catch All

Texas has allowed teachers to have concealed weapons in schools since just after Sandy Hook in 2013 actually. It requires additional training equivalent to a couple weeks of time as of now. (https://www.tcole.texas.gov/sites/default/files/documents/school marshal brochure.pdf). Thus far in all of Texas, fewer than 300 teachers have actually signed up. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/27/arming-teachers-hard-gun-loving-texas-00035794 If that was the goal, the options are - reduce the training required as its too burdensome, provide bonuses such as financial incentives for completing that training, or simply require it of teachers whether they like it or not.
  7. Got it, so they're at 39, with an open spot for Lynn. Thanks!
  8. Ok, I'm confused. There are exactly 40 names on the White Sox's 40 man roster on their website unless I miscounted repeatedly/. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/roster/40-man Crochet, Stiever, and Lynn are all listed. Who is on the 40 man that isn't listed as on the 40 man by the White Sox?
  9. If I've counted correctly, 3, due to guys on the 60 day IL. Lynn will need one when he comes back.
  10. He could be placed on the 10 day IL and be out for 90 days, no reason why that's not possible. They would only move a guy to the 60 day IL when they needed the roster spot - the only reason to put a guy on the 60 day IL right away today would be if you're confident he's going for surgery and will be out for well over 2 months, which seems unlikely.
  11. That is in fact correct. Hader is also something like 60% of the way to Herschiser's scoreless innings streak.
  12. His peripherals have been fascinating to watch. His K rate is substantially down from last year which seems like a bad sign for him, but somehow he was sporting an almost Aaron Bummer like 60% ground ball rate without any obvious changes to the locations of his pitches or any new pitches - he was at half that rate the last few years. I don’t know if the Dodgers have a way to make that happen through pitch selection but that seems unlikely to keep happening.
  13. I will admit a morbid curiosity as to the lineups the next few weeks without Anderson. I’m not sure what the best answer actually is to who should lead off, and that makes this extra fascinating. Will we get Leury/Harrison/Mendick because they’re short?
  14. Yes, he is. He is literally Adam Dunn level bad so far.
  15. You’ve underestimated this by enough that I have to point it out. He’s -7 runs on defense in 30 games. Over a full season that’s about -40 runs below average on defense.
  16. If he was at 1b maybe. His OF defense is so awful that right now he’s a 0 WAR player as his poor defense is completely offsetting any offensive value he has.
  17. Does Brent Morel count as a regular? Because if not I have to go all the way back to Joe Crede to find the last guy the White Sox drafted outside the first round who was a 500+ PA player for the White Sox.
  18. I don’t believe Hendriks has much trade value because his contract is so big. He’s probably movable but I can’t imagine a big return for him. About the only GM who pays a big price in talent for expensive closers in a trade is, ironically, Rick Hahn, and the White Sox don’t have him to trade with. Graveman on the other hand, if he continues pitching this well, could be much more interesting and actually give a solid return.
  19. “Strange New Worlds” is fantastic.
  20. The big question is gonna be Giolito. You could potentially make this team a lot better for the next 5 years by sacrificing his 2023, If 2022 is lost.
  21. Which is also…totally normal and something every team is dealing with and which should be expected when constructing a team in the offseason.
  22. Regardless of my feelings about Kapler, Kaepernick, or LaRussa - I would suggest that maybe with where his team is sitting in the standings the right call when asked this question is to express sympathy for the victims but say that he’s not going to comment more because this team needs to focus on baseball.
