I believe the routine this year is that no symptoms and a negative test are required. If someone shows no symptoms but tests positive they would be out until they test negative (not sure if it’s one or two tests required). Gio absolutely tested positive. Most athletes and vaccinated Individuals with the current variants move through their symptoms somewhat quicker than the original one hitting people with no immune system training. No need for a 10 day quarantine for most vaccinated people, just let it clear their system.

I would say shut him down a couple times for 10 day stretches. I'd much rather have his arm feeling normal on pitch 90 rather than getting back into tired at pitch 50 mode like he was last year.

Like it or not they have to factor in what an arbitrator might say when they review the suspension. If they over-do it and there's no historic precedent for a suspension that long for an action like this, the arbitrator might throw the suspension out entirely.
