  1. “Anderson might be out 3 months if that was torn” - out 3 weeks. ”Kopech might have just torn his ACL” - out 7 days, not even on the IL. ”Burger just broke his hand.” - finishes the AB ”How could our injury luck be this bad we must be cursed”
  2. Sounded like his right. He finished the AB so it’s definitely not broken.
  3. That’s all fine. But he basically had 3 pitchers available and pitched all 3 in the 7th inning!!! Put Lambert out there and save the other guys. If he gets beaten up for 5 or 6 runs maybe the other two get easy mop up duty and then they don’t use Foster and Ruiz in extras, and they’re in a more usable state on Sunday so that game turns into a win. That call, combined with Bummer and the non-IL lunacy, will have affected 3 games if tonight’s game happens.
  4. I fully get the confusion about using Sousa and Crick as the first guys out of the pen on Saturday when Lambert should have gotten the ball. Today unfortunately Sousa and Crick must be the first guys to throw, and it would help if each could go at least an inning, even if they give up a few.
  5. Wrote this last night so since no other moves were made today, here’s the setup for the bullpen: Ok so Ruiz and Foster are obviously unavailable Monday. 4 outings in 5 days. Lopez threw Thursday, 2 innings Friday, and on Sunday. You’d really like to not use him. Banks threw 2 innings in Charlotte on Friday and went Sunday. Don’t want to use him but might have no choice. Graveman had a hard outing Friday, was unavailable Saturday, had a strong but extra innings pressure outing Sunday. Maybe available but not sure why he was in such bad shape Saturday. Lambert threw almost 3 innings Saturday. Again you’d like to give him Monday off if things were ideal. If Hendriks has any setbacks today, the freshest relievers available are Sousa and Crick. Lynn probably has a limit of about 80 pitches? Wednesday’s starter is still a mess. They could still IL Kopech and bring up Martin, but not sure why they wouldn’t to that today to have one other backup plan. Martin can’t be called up unless someone is out on the IL Wednesday starter options: -Bullpen day if somehow people are rested -Giolito on short rest -Lambert if they don’t use him the next 2 days
  6. No one has confirmed this but a couple people said he looked awkward right at the end of the session on Friday, and Tony did strongly suggest he wasn't available either Saturday or Sunday but is supposed to be available today. Another round of back spasms seems like a very plausible conclusion - they wouldn't put him on the IL for that, and we've seen it already this year.
  7. I think you’re right, and I think the fans getting into it on Saturday was also a big part.
  8. I would bet we were at twice this length in ‘21.
  9. I’d expect some sort of roster move before the game. Otherwise, it’s Sousa and Crick. Hopefully Hendriks also.
  10. It is rather impressive how well winning percentage in the AL is tracking run differential. The White Sox are 2 teams above where they should be thanks to a positive record in close games. The Red Sox and Guardians are a bit worse than expected.
  11. It’s rare but it does happen. Most of the time if they do it, it’s early in a game when no one is paying attention to the bullpen. Yesterday everyone was watching the pen from the first inning.
  12. They have no starter for Wednesday right now. The options on the roster are - rest Lambert and Lopez the next 2 days and use them, or do Giolito on short rest Wednesday followed by Cueto on Friday. Otherwise, they can IL Kopech and get Martin back up.

  14. By the way… If Bummer was on the IL and Banks was up, he could have come into the 10th on Saturday, and just doing the best he could would probably have had a better chance of winning that game than Foster and Ruiz both pitching their 3rd games in 4 days. Foster and Ruiz going for the 4th time in 5 days again got shelled in extra innings today. If Banks was available yesterday just as a sacrifice, those guys would have been notably more rested and maybe give us a chance in the 11th and 12th today. Thats 2 straight losses where this “he’s hurt but not on the IL” lunacy was a solid factor. Nice work to whoever thinks that is a funny game!
  15. They've both thrown 4 times in 5 days. I count 87 pitches for Ruiz and 59 pitches for Foster since Wednesday.
  16. What more could you possibly ask from them today after Kopech got hurt? The 2 guys who pitched in Extra Innings were throwing for the 4th time in 5 days, both of them. Tomorrow's starter threw half the game. Lopez has thrown what, 3 times in 4 days?
  17. Who is that pitcher they just claimed from Oakland? When did he go last, he's the only one I couldn't see on Charlotte's recent box scores.
  18. Because they brought in a lefty and Reese is a lefty while Zavala is a righty. Lefties cannot face lefties, ever. You know that.
  19. The Mets have fewer guys on the IL but they’ve been gone weeks and look at the money - Scherzer, DeGrom (hasn’t pitched yet), McCann, Walker, May. They have had 13 guys on the IL but the most money on the IL - 50% more money on the IL than the White Sox. The Dodgers 15 guys including: Buehrle, Pillar, Muncy, Kahnle (TJS), Kershaw, Price (3 weeks of COVID), Treinen, Duffy, Heaney, and a elbow/TJS crew of Dustin May, Victor Gonzalez, Caleb Ferguson, and Jimmy Nelson. The one game the White Sox won in their series with the Dodgers was Kershaw’s turn in the rotation. Oh and they also spent like $40 million on Bauer. If your plan for the season included being vastly more healthy than the white Sox currently are, then you have a plan that will fail 95% of the time.
  20. For the Twins; 9 guys have had COVID (Correa, Kepler, Pagan, Megill, Thielbar, Celestine, Ryan, Arraez, Bundy.) Their injury list then includes Correa, Gray, Sano, Garlick, Ober, Lewis (for the year), Coulombe, Shastack, Paddack, Larnach, Romero, Kirlikoff, alcala, Dobnak, Maeda (TJS). They have had 24 names on the iL so far this year. For the White Sox, Kopech will be their 16th. 19 for the Tigers.
