  1. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:05 PM) You mean sports. The NFC West is laughing at you.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) That said, I like him as a player, I think he had a solid year this year, but I think he is indeed overrated. I think most big Bears fans know it is Briggs that is the heart of our defense. Really? That defense works because of Urlacher.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) All I have to say about this is, with how many precautions the league seems to take regarding injuries, especially to a prized quarterback, you think they would have had the knee immobilized or something while he was on the sidelines. Not walking around with no crutches, no ice, not sitting on the bench, but actually standing up and walking around. Again, I can't tell if he had any sort of weak brace on underneath, but that's not what gets you. When I popped my knee, walking straight forwards over open terrain, standing straight up was easy. It's the climbing along the sides of the mountain when your knee has to support sideways forces that really gets you.
  4. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) No excuse for how badly laws are written in the US. Actually, one can probably give a very good excuse...the definition of residency has changed over the past few decades due to changes in travel patterns, to the point where laws written 10-20 years ago would no longer be as applicable.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) Well, playing running back with that injury and playing quarterback with that injury are slightly different, don't you think? yeah, behind the Bears O-line, the QB has to run a ton more than any RB.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) No. But what was the risk of further injury? I would need to know that first. Having popped both knees before, if you try to put extra stress on those ligaments, especially right after damaging them the first time, they're not going to be happy about it. You could easily take a grade 2 and turn it into a grade 3.
  7. Just because you say that doesn't make it true. Why I've blown out both of my knees, and I got up and immediately limped back to camp using the nearest person as a human crutch. If I can do that...
  8. Heal thyself, quarterback.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) Were you at the game watching him on the sidelines the entire time? I heard reporters on the sideline report this morning that they saw him working with Hanie on several occasions. There was definitely one shot of Hanie sitting next to Cutler with a book of photos in Hanie's hands.
  10. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) The laws, the law, but common sense tells me that if you are requested to serve by the President of the United States, you shouldn't lose your "residency". Frankly this would prohibit any US Military Service personnel, from coming back from Iraq/Afghanistan and running for US Congress. What about someone who, like a Gabby Giffords, is being moved to Texas for medical reasons and may be there for 1-2 years. If she lived in Chicago, under the current law, could she not run for office again? There is an explicit allowance in most of those laws for military service.
  11. If there's one thing that everyone in this forum can agree on, it's that Braun would not be an acceptable candidate.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) I don't want the rapist to win. Are you a scientologist? What do you have against therapy?
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) Haha, well this is obviously sarcasm. I just couldn't tell if Leonard was being sarcastic or if he thought I was making some point that I wasn't. I'm a bit confused. Google the phrase.
  14. Well, I guess it's good to know that there is a situation that won't call for mass bloodshed. (Redstate.com's editor in Chief is also a CNN employee).
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) By the way, I really like Earl Bennet. Was Bennett the one who scored the TD on the Hanie pass? Because that was a stellar move.
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) sounds great to me Personally I think that's a terrible idea.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:03 AM) And your point? You realize the sun doesn't go down, it's just an illusion caused by the world spinning 'round.
  18. Everyone can see Deng. He's guarding the other team's best player.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Somehow I feel a tech bubble burst (Round 2) in the horizon when reading about Groupon, Facebook, etc. THis is an interesting point...because they certainly don't have the revenue to support their current supposed market values, but they also have much more sound and modern business models than pets.com. There's also the muddying effect of the enormous sums of cash that the Federal Reserve has dumped into the market. I could be convinced either way on this one.
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) <!--quoteo(post=2317838:date=Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:29 AM:name=kev211)-->QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 01:29 AM) <!--quotec-->Excellent article http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writ...d=twitter_share @ochocinco - Turned on Espn and reading the tweets current/former players have sent out based on Cutlers injury.what if he's really hurt bad I'm sad Finally someone with a brain... Someone wants to sign a contract with the Bears this offseason...
  21. Can't focus on them too intently, otherwise one of their players just becomes a red blur.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) In that situation, you are correct. But if your O-line can't handle a simple 4-man rush or one LB blitzing, theres only so many times you can chuck up to him. The defense then starts double teaming him and you will be in trouble. A true, legit #1 WR, of the level that there are probably only 5-10 in the NFL, it doesn't matter if they're double teamed. I'm not sure if Jackson is in that class, but he's potentially close.
