  1. I feel walking out of that one like I felt after the first LOTR movie. Yeah, it was entertaining, but you feel like you've gone so far already, and yet you're barely along the road towards the finish.
  2. Don't you tell me what I can and can't chant.
  3. Booo-Urns!
  4. Zero Effect starred Ben Stiller.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) I don't think Gibson stands to lost a substantial amount of minutes when Booz gets back. It's likely that the majority of Bogans' minutes will be distributed between Brewer and Taj, with Asik taking a hit of about 5-or-so minutes a game, and Scal seeing a lot more DNP-CD's. Thibo knows who his horses are and Taj and Jo have good enough handles that they can send a big lineup out and just shut people down. Also...they might be cautious with Boozer's minutes for a while. Hell, long term, they probably should, the guys' made of glass anyway. I wonder how close of attention Denver has payed to Gibson's play over these first few games.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) There was an article on foreignpolicy.com the other day about this. The Kremlin isn't going to be happy about it, but they can tell the difference between Obama, Senate Republicans, and things that are done by Senate Republicans purely to undermine Obama. This really, really isn't going to help US-Russia relations though... the thaw in relations is real, and substantive, and Republicans are willing to throw a wrench in that just to deny Obama a political victory. I bet a Republican president could've gotten 80 votes on the same treaty this summer. I think it's worth noting that a big part of the reason why the economic summit didn't produce any agreement between the U.S. and Korea is that the South Koreans thought there was no chance that Obama could get any economic treaty passed through the Senate even if it was signed, and so there was no reason for their government to take any political hits for signing something that would never go into effect.
  7. The big selling point the Sox have here is actually Cooper. A guy with a reputation of occasionally fixing people. If you're Duke, and you think you have some talent, you're looking for a guy like Cooper or Duncan who can potentially help you turn things around. The Sox probably need to sign a 6th starter guy if they're going to move a starter, this isn't a terrible candidate, and even still, they need some bullpen help as well.
  8. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) I think 80 votes would be a low end estimate. The previous START treaties have passed with >85.
  9. QUOTE (Lillian @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 09:59 AM) Aside from de Aza for Pierre, it's basically last year's team with Matsui substituted for Kotsay at DH. Oh, wait a minute. I guess maybe that does suck. Really...an 88 win team with Matsui substituted for Kotsay at DH? That's a 90+ win team. Fix the disaster that was the closer's spot and you're right there.
  10. ~3:30 ish today, taking the spouse.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) Dallas went on a huge run to start the 3rd, as I believe there was a 20 point swing in the game from mid 2nd quarter to mid 3rd quarter. Anyways, nice to see C.J. Watson shooting FT at the end, as well as Mark Jackson (I believe it was him) talking about how Dallas should have let Noah catch the ball at the end of the game so they could foul him. Not just saying they should have let him catch the ball, they should have left him completely unguarded, because compared to Kyle Korver... You are right though, Dallas had about a 12-1 run or something like that to start the 3rd. 2 games in a row the Bulls have come out sloppy on offense right after the half.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) My guess is to ease the PR backlash from the Olbermann thing. There ya go. They wanted to suspend Olbermann anyway, they found themselves a convenient reason, wound up only suspending him for 2 days because of the backlash, then learned that the guy they didn't want to suspend had done the exact same thing that they suspended Olbermann for.
  13. Xavier McDaniel better be on my side.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 01:42 AM) Well obviously. I just feel really good about Taj now. He's come a long way pretty fast. Taj right now is playing about where Noah was playing to start last year.
  15. UHHHHHHHH the Germans are mad at me, I'm so scared, ooh the Germans. Uh-oh the Germans are coming to get me oooh don't let the Germans come after me. No, they're so big and strong, the Germans, the Germans.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 09:54 PM) Its crazy watching Tyson Chandler and realizing that Joakim Noah is pretty much already everything that they wanted from Chandler. Noah is much more complete than I hoped Chandler would be. Noah is the defender/rebounder I hoped Chandler was becoming, but he's so much more effective on offense already. Chandler fits well on a team loaded with other scorers. Guys like Nowitzki and Kidd and such, who can generate offense.
  17. So Flaxx is a German name/seed? I'd never have guessed.
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) The minute I see England end its occupation of Ireland is the minute I take anything they say seriously on how another country should act or on what are would be war crimes. WTF? The UK isn't allowed to have opinions on war crimes? Really?
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) My concern is unruly Cubs fans tearing up the decor around the park. That'd make for a nice "Cub fans are pigs and idiots" story in the press if/when it happened.
  20. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) What kind of radiation levels are emitted from the full-body scanners? The only issue I have with them is that repeated exposure might be dangerous. I know when I get an x-ray at the dentist, the hygienist throws a lead vest on me and runs out of the room. It is significantly less radiation than you receive from an X-Ray.
  21. The Chairman gets a Hall of Fame vote this year.
  22. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) Astros are up for sale. Anyone got an extra half-billion dollars lying around You don't need that, you just need an investment firm willing to loan you a good chunk of the money.
  23. You know, it's really going to be interesting to see how it plays both domestically and globally when this START extension goes down.
  24. Quit puking on Flaxx when we don't have the cameras running!
  25. MSNBC suspends Joe Scarborough for undisclosed campaign contributions over the years.
