  1. just for the record, I also cannot come up with an obvious complaint about LaRussa's choices here.
  2. I doubt he's ready yet but probably time to get him up if he's not. Maybe you can buy an at bat here? Can't warm up that quickly this early in the season.
  3. Baez is either going to hit a ball 440 or he's going to create a measureable wind 440 feet from the plate.
  4. He slid/rolled way over the bag and didn't make any effort to stay in contact with the bag. He could have still taken out Harrison with a decent slide, but you have to make an effort to stay on the bag.
  5. one of those new rules they allowed this year, this one specifically responding to the 'Stros.
  6. It's the same kinda communicator thing that NFL teams use to talk to your QB. There's no cameras in the outfield stealing signs when the signs are transmitted to the pitcher's ear.
  7. Oh ok I was wrong. That was worrisome.
  8. Oh golly Graveman went to his hat and the umps noticed
  9. That just sounds like a cramp?
  10. I hope Luca$ is prepped for a tight strike zone.
  11. Twitter blocked this image as potentially sensitive content. Yay algorithms?
  12. I do think you have to give them props for Correa as opposed to Donaldson, that's a legit upgrade. Other than that, they have the same problem as last year - a patchwork pitching staff. But...the Twins have an obnoxious habit of making the playoffs with a patchwork pitching staff. 2019, 100 win team, starting rotation of Berrios, Martin Perez (ERA 5), Jake Odorizzi, Kyle Gibson, and Michael Pineda? Come on, that rotation shouldn't win 90 I don't care how many home runs your team hits. A real weakness on them though? I wonder if they've set themselves up really poorly with Gary Sanchez at catcher having to work with those pitchers. Combination of bad defense and bad overall catching might not be what that patchwork pitching staff needs to hold together.
  13. That does make some sense with the difference in years of control in the deal.
  14. If he’s thrown like 75 pitches I think we will mostly understand that.
  15. So which guy starts the season in the bullpen? I have no clue.
  16. One guy I remember with this was Masahiro Tanaka, who supposedly partially tore his UCL in his first US year, opted to rehab rather than surgery. He had a nice career and avoided the surgery but I don’t think he ever again became the top of the rotation guy he was pre injury.
  17. So did that Paddack trade just wither on the vines? Also is someone going to make a game thread?
