QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) Not that I would mind Rios playing everyday, but isn't he our only other option for CF? After this week, Rios should have enough rest to cover the next 2 months.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) Oh okay, awesome then. If the Bulls were to trade Deng to the Magic, then the Magic would have to give back contracts worth 90%-110% of Deng's $11 million next year, because the Magic are well over the cap. If the Bulls were to trade Deng to the Clippers, they could give him up for a 2nd round pick and the Clips could absorb his entire salary without having to send anything back. Similarly, since the Bulls are under the cap by a max deal next year, if the Cavs wanted to do a Lebron sign and trade in exchange for a couple Bulls first round picks in the future, that could be done as well.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:09 PM) Is he talkin about Purdue yet and how he played every sport offered The thing that annoyed me there was him saying "Yes!" when Jones hit that popup.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) Don't all trades have to have player salaries be within 90% of each other? Only if both teams are over the salary cap. If 1 team is under the cap, they can take on additional salary. For example, the Nuggets giving Marcus Camby to the Clippers for a 2nd round pick or the Clippers giving Zach Randolph to the Grizzlies last year. In either case, the team getting the big contract player was under the cap and so was able to absorb the entire contract.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) When was the last time we won 8 in a row? I remember back in the day (2005 and such) that 8 was always our limit. I think we had 3-4 8 win stretches then. Let's make it 9! We won 8 in a row in May of 08. We won 9 in a row once in 2006, and that was the first 9 game White Sox winning streak since 1977.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) Honestly, we do go to other stores when they have sales or we have coupons. But that probably only accounts for about 20% of our total shopping. I'd say sales/coupons accounts for about 80-90% of mine. The only thing I typically don't get on sale is fresh fruit/vegetables.

Linebrink Question
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) Don't you think he'd at least benefit more seeing MLB hitters in the pen than starting in Charlotte? I do. I don't know what else he needs to work on down there that he can't work on here. He's ready. Of course calling up Santeliz or something might work too, but Hudson is right now the best pitcher we've got in the minors, and Hudson over Linebrink is the best talent-for-talent upgrade we can make there. No, that would be Hudson for Williams. Anyway, I want him throwing 150+ innings in AAA this year so he's ready to throw 175 in the big leagues next year.

The harder we rant against Kotsay, the more likely he is to get a hit.

Linebrink Question
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) But that said, my hope is that Kenny is at the end of his rope with Scott. My hope is that Kenny wants this division and he wants the best bullpen possible, and that means Hudson is here and Linebrink is gone by any means necessary. I still don't want Hudson in the bullpen.

QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) Because that lineup would make logical sense. Because Mark Kotsay has earned the 3 spot

Your religion or your livelihood.....
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) I was actually comparing spending a couple of hours at Wal-Mart and getting everthing I need at once to spending half the day driving around to 3 or 4 different places to save a few bucks. Which remains the definition of a convenience store. It's a different type of convenience store from the gas station down the street, but you're still paying extra for convenience.

Financial News
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) We had some nice bilps and the economy seems to be improving, but the housing market is taking much much longer to unwind than I think anyone thought. Haven't I been saying that would be the case? Thought I had been.

Your religion or your livelihood.....
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:25 PM) I would argue that you might be paying a little more on some items but you are saving on time and gas and sometimes convinience if you have to run out at 3AM and no other place is open. Exactly. It's a convenience store. Which means you're not paying the lowest price on most items and you shouldn't pretend that you are.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) How does the salary work out here? I don't think it does. The Clippers are under the cap by more than the amount of Deng's contract, so they can absorb his entire contract without having to send salary back, unless they are able to sign a player to a large deal first.
