  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) Ben Gordon doesn't even pretend to play defense anymore. Good riddance. Hell of a shot though. Couple of those were just awesome. Anyway...yeah, Allen made him look silly down the stretch. Stay on Ray freaking Allen!
  2. If nothing else...we got them to 6 games. That was one of my goals. We're not being shown up or embarrassed. Well, except for our coaching. And 3 down to the last second/1/2 OT games...well, at least it's decent experience for the youngin's.
  3. Texas requests help from federal government in preparing for swine flu. Federal government laughs, says "No you secessionist bastard". If only the world was that funny....
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) Why isn't Broadway in there now? At this point it seems like almost every one of our games is a laugher one way or the other, so some of these guys need work.
  5. We know we're going to win a lot of games like this over the course of the season, we know there's some games where we're going to be shut out. The question is going to be whether we can win the 3-2 games where we hit 1 or 0 home runs.
  6. QUOTE (Cubano @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) What is the record for most bases loaded HR? Also, I have read a lot about the Medoza line? Is that a player's last name that hit 200? Is 200 de mark? Thanks Lou Gehrig hit 23 grand slams in his 17 year career. Manny Ramirez, still active, has 21, and will likely pass that mark. Former White Sox 3rd baseman Robin Ventura is 5th with 18.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 05:17 PM) There's nobody on the team I'd rather have up with the bases juiced than Alexei. He's what, 1/5 of the way to tying Manny for total #'s of grand slams (that'd be 1 behind Gehrig)
  8. Do we have a better record this year with the sunday lineup or with the regular lineup?
  9. No better way to wake alexei up than to load the bases for him...
  10. How about a little bit of that power here BA...
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:04 PM) You know what I want now, Freeman to Denver. I'd laugh hysterically.
  12. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) Obviously not, or they would have taken him Well, on this one, I think their coach has made a mistake. That defense was awful last year. Their solution is to pass on a guy like Orakpo and grab a RB in the first?
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) I think that's why they took him there, they are gonna pick again in 6 picks anyways so why risk it? Because they really could have used the guy the Redskins took right after them who no one thought would drop out of the top 10.
  14. The Redskins have now massively overhauled their D Line this offseason.
  15. Really? The Broncos drafted Moreno there? He probably would have been there at their 2nd pick.
  16. And now, will someone jump up for Sanchez. The Seahawks were always the team that couldn't be beaten if they wanted him.
  17. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) yeah that's true, and I realize this is just for fun. but it woulnd't take other teams 10 years to be able to put comparable people on their roster. and do you think Vinny Del Negro would be able to coach the team? We could arrange it so that every time VDN spoke or did anything someone from the 20 rows behind him will throw his or her beverage on to him and a chorus of "Sit down!" will rise up from that group.
  18. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 12:29 PM) Yeah but it's not realistic. And come on people, so far 8 people think 10 championships if this were to happen? Are you kidding me? If LeBron was on the team they'd win at least a championship, how many I don't know, but other teams would start doing the same thing and you'd see for example Kobe, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard etc. being with the Lakers. And how would the Lakers pull that off? Hypnotizing Memphis is one thing, but the issue winds up being that you need to sign the 2nd guy somehow to go with the first. The 3rd guy winds up almost impossible to sign. Lebron, the Bulls could at least be in a position to make an offer if they can move about 25% of Hinrich's contract somehow. That's why it's at least a little intriguing.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) Curious what effect factory farming has had on methane levels. When did those start popping up in the '50s? It basically follows the CO2 plot shape. Not sure how good the measurements are from the 50's and 60's.
  20. For about a decade or so, we've managed to keep atmospheric methane at a roughly constant level after years of increase, in no small part due to the fact that recovering methane from things like landfills and burning it can be an excellent and nearly free energy source. Methane, as you should know, is a vastly stronger greenhouse gas than CO2 because of its energy absorption characteristics. Last year, we saw a sudden spike in atmospheric methane. That was troublesome, because it could mean that other sources, like melting permafrost, were starting to contribute more. It's now a 2 year trend. And the economic collapse didn't slow it down.
  21. And for that matter, why don't they release the memos saying how many terror attacks the torture stopped? Oh.
