If you look at the radar it looks like the storm has made it 1/2 of the way through Detroit, with 1 more big yellow colored pulse left to go. So I think we're probably about 1 hour or so away from starting the game, give or take the storm slowing down and the ability of the Detroit grounds crew to clean the field up.

If the season ended right now, Iguchi would have the best rookie numbers in the AL, but somehow I doubt that's going to continue. Reed and Swisher have both looked better of late, and Iguchi has been down from his .320 pace for quite a while.

If I was confident Gload would stay healthy, and PK left, I would be quite happy with him there given the numbers he put up in 2004. .321 average, 7 home runs in 234 at bats...He keeps that up the whole year and we've got a guy who hits 15-20 long balls, hits .320, takes 50 or so walks, and plays near gold-glove caliber defense. All for a very small price. He'd probably generate just about as many runs hitting .320 with 20 home runs as Konerko does hitting .250 with 40 home runs.

Well boys, whenever the rain dries up, here's to another win today... Let's get out of this place with a sweep. I want to go to that Hell Hole by the bay on a high note. Especially given how the A's have been playing lately.

If we're lucky, this won't end up being that big of a deal, because there's a decent shot Walker won't see much playing time. The deal with McCarthy was supposed to be that while he was up, he'll be making an occasional spot start, but mainly he'll be consigned to the bullpen and we'll run with a 4 man staff and off-days until the AS break. If we do that, then hopefully BMac gets in the line coming out of the bullpen even before Walker, and in order to make sure McCarthy gets some innings we'll barely see Walker aside from facing the occasional single left handed batter.
