GAME THREAD 7-18-2005 vs. Detroit
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) That's all we need him to be at this point. If he could go another inning, that wouldn't be all that bad in this ballpark. Playing at home, we have to be able to score more than 1 or 2 runs. I don't care how good our pitching is that just won't fly at home. 4 runs through 5 innings isn't acceptable in any ballpark.

AJ Burnett News
QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) Marte pitched like he did a few years ago last night.. So I would hold on to him He did pitch well, but I am going on this season, not just last night. And I do agree that if we did trade one of the lefties we would have to look to aquire another one, because we don't have a replacement in the minors.

Directions to Tweeter in Tinley
QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) I take central south to flossmore road then west on flossmore rd... central from 167th to flossmore is forest preserve and the limit is 40 and you will see NO cars.. Well done, this is the "locals" way to get there without all the expressway traffic. Don't tell too many people though, then it won't be a secret anymore.

Wedding Guest Shot
Yeah, I've been to a couple of weddings there. Also, met with them when I was planning my wedding. We didn't have it there, but it was a nice place. That's a damn shame.

Padilla Article on Burnett Rumor
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) I would not be surprised to see next years payroll right at the $100 million mark. That would be sweet! I want Beltran.

Padilla Article on Burnett Rumor
QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) I really hope we don't trade for AJ UNLESS we immediately get him locked up because he is going to cost us a lot. Won't JR seriously have to expand payroll to get this done? If he'll do it (as he has said), great, but if it will affect paying Garland and others I don't know if it will be the best scenario.

A-Rod ready to play for Dominican Republic
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) I agree big time. And he didn't live in the US his whole life. He was born in NY, then moved to the Dominican Republic shortly after for at least half of his childhood and then he moved to Miami after that. I think he was 14 when he moved to Miami. Anyway, it's his choice and he has every right to play for his team. If I moved to Mexico for my childhood, and moved back to Chicago, then I probably would play for Mexico since my parents are from there and I lived there for my childhood. I just read on rotoworld that bud Selig told A-Rod that is was not his decision to make, so he may not be playing for the Domincan after all. I wonder how the US team will react to him if he has to play with them after publicly saying that he didn't want to.

Bachelor Party Ideas
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) My bachelor party was actually just me and my best friends sitting around watching Horror films, and I was in bed by 10:30PM, as I had strepp throat the week of my wedding and didn't go onto anti-biotics until about 10 hours before I got married. I felt like Hell. But that being said, I told my friends that there was no way in hell I wanted a "Party", as I really am not a party kind of person, and never have been. I got married when I was 24, so it wasn't about me getting "too old", I just never got into that stuff. I have also never set foot in a strip club, so I can't comment on those. Father Gleason is that you? I'm not a big fan of strippers at a bachelor party either. For those that have had them you know what I mean, the entire time they are constantly asking people to shell out more money, and if you don't give it to them they get all pissy. Plus, like it was said earlier in this thread, the ones who actually go to the houses aren't typically the highest quality either.

Bachelor Party Ideas
QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:33 AM) 4th time.. Perhaps he should rethink getting married again as it's obviously not working out for him. Not the 4th for the same guy, that may be a record...

Bachelor Party Ideas
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) Its too bad that 'live entertainment' is nixed...because Peoria is a great place to go...plenty of bars, Big Al's, casino boat, and cheap golfing is also available. But since no live entertainment, Steff is on to something...if guys like to play poker, rent out a bar and have a Texas Hold 'Em Tourney... It's tough because this is the 4th bachelor party that I have planned or helped to plan. So far I've already done...paintball, skybox @ Balmoral and poker tourney. ESPN Zone isn't a bad idea, I may look into that one.

Bachelor Party Ideas
I'm trying to plan my buddies bachelor party and am having a tough time. I thought I had the perfect idea... 20 guys flying to CLE on Oct 1 to watch the Sox, but he didn't like the idea, so now I am back to square 1. It is going to have to be some Sat in October, and funds are limited, so Vegas is out. Anyone have, or been to, any good bachelor parties that they would like to share? Please keep it clean, as he has made it clear that "live entertainment" is NOT an option.

What would you do if the Sox won the World Series?
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:40 AM) Me too...because I would remember all the times my grandpa took me to games...and my dad....and it would be all about the great memories...It would be so overwhelming... The last ime I cried, over a sporting event, was 2002 Indiana over Duke to get to the final four (see avatar). I imagine that a Sox WS would probably bring me to tears again. Anyone know the actual date of the World Series this year? I have a wedding in NJ around that time. I'd hate to have to tell my buddy that I can't make his wedding. He's a Yankee fan, he'd probably understand.
