  1. 4.20 ERA with the Dodgers in 79 1/3 IP back in 2001.
  2. When 2 of the 3 hits are homers.....you are damn lucky you didn't give up 6 or 7 hits. At the same time, you could say that since AZ only got 3 hits, they were damned lucky to get 2 runs.
  3. Every win the Sox get isn't luck. We gave up just 3 hits last night -- I'd say we deserved to win.
  4. Excellent everyone's favorite psycologist is back. Shame I have to go I would hate to miss a real gem. Steff don't bother. It's not worth the wear on your keyboard to respond to his crap. But it's soooo funny to see his responses?!?! "I know you are but what am I" doesn't even come close There is nothing funny about your hypocritical ways nor Mathew's inept spelling.
  5. And look, it's everyone's favorite spelling bee champion. Proof-reading is an underrated aspect of owning a computer.
  6. No, your continued hypocricy isn't a mistake -- it's a sickness, and you cannot help yourself. No offense taken, though, as you clearly have issues. And perhaps you should join me in my search for a life, as you are replying right along with me. I'm just sitting here waiting to head out to Dodger Stadium, and I don't have much else to do -- what's your excuse? Guys cmom with the no lives thing. If someone finds enjoyment in posting on these sites, more power to them. Whatever makes ya happy. The whole "get a life" attack is asinine because while the person makes that statement, they are doing the VERY thing they are attacking the other person for doing. Some people... LOL. Well i have said it before too. But Ive realized how dumb it is. Many people post from work. Others are just bored, like me. I have other choices, but those choices are probably not good ones. Id rather be bored than broke, dead, in an unhappy relationship, or an alcoholic. Heh, agreed. I got off of work a few hours ago, but I had a few things to do (pick up car from mechanic, rob an old lady to help pay for the repairs, have the rig washed, went to Dodger Stadium to pick up my tickets, etc), and now I'm just sitting around. I would agree with the "get a life" tactic if someone were here for like 10 hours a day and posted 100's of posts per week, but nobody (that I know of) falls into that category.
  7. I don't understand why you think that 1 person cheating would kill MLB. The ONLY way this could cause major damage to the game is if the game itself takes an active role in a coverup.

  10. Looks good on paper. But, "paper doesn't hit the ball and paper doesn't catch the ball" -- Koch before the '03 season began.
  11. And let me guess...KW is set to resign any moment now, right?
  12. Short term, yes, it would tarnish the game. Long term, baseball would be fine if they dealt with it in a HARSH and UNPRECIDENTED manner. Covering it up would be like putting a band-aid on a huge gash. The band-aid would hold on for a little while, but if it ever were to let go, the flood gates would open and baseball would be SCREWED. I could be way off base with this, but like I said, I don't think baseball would risk losing all credibility for any single player outside of Cal when he was chasing Gehrig.
  13. MLB may be stupid...but they aren't suicidal.
  14. What's the average age on that team? They've gotta be the oldest team in baseball, don't they?
  15. Because if the coverup was one day made public by someone, it would hurt baseball more than the '94 strike. MLB is not going to risk their entire business just because one of their employees is a good money maker. The risk would not be worth the gain.
  16. Yes, probably. Only Sammy knows FOR SURE....FOR SURE....if he did it deliberately or not. And his story is that he picked up the wrong bat...if that were true...IF...then he did not intend to cheat in the game. I'm through with this old topic...I don't know why it's getting so much coverage.
  17. Let's be honest...if it came out that somehow there was proof that Sammy's story was true, there would still be A LOT of pig-headed people who would STILL say he intentionally cheated. Some hate the Cubs and Sosa so much that they would let their bias cloud reality. That said -- he probably knew what he was doing. Is it bad? Sure. Is he the first? No. Will he be the last? No. Let the man serve his suspension, and move on with this already.
  18. Since Jimenez is still up around .290 or so, I HIGHLY doubt he'd be the one to get benched (if anyone). I'd say that if the Sox want to bring Miles up, they'd want to get him some PT -- otherwise it would be pointless. With Jose playing as poorly as he's been this year, maybe they'd consider benching him and his $5M+ salary? Who knows.
  19. Also, Colon didn't get suspended for a "bean ball". He got suspended for an intentional bean ball -- BIG difference.
  20. The "5 game suspension" was in reality only a 1 game suspension since BC is a pitcher. Sammy's punishment is 8 times worse than Colon's was.
  21. Not only might the Sox have gone to the Series that year...but Frank had a legimate shot at the triple crown. But I'd have to go with 2000 since I'm only 22 and it's the best Sox team that I can really remember (1993 was a good year, but I was only 12 at the time, so I don't remember it very well).
