It honestly seems like some people are bigger Ozzie fans than White Sox fans.

QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) So him ripping a muscle off a bone is due to riods? Wow.. That is just down right moronic to state that. That one reliever blew up his elbow due to steroids. Pulling a muscle off the bone seems possible. Take it easy with the attacks. I truly don't believe you'll last long here.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) I wound up watching it on my laptop on a 6am flight to Denver. It was probably because I was so tired that I got all slap happy and laughed throughout most of it. I couldn't imagine watching it again though. And of course expectations play a big part in the movie going experience. I popped it in with zero expectations. Had I heard a lot of good things I may have been more of a prude about it and sneered as I watched. I definitely had high expectations, but I was in a great mood. It was the day I moved into my apartment for Senior year of college, all giddy and looking forward to a great year. It still disappointed.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) Absolutely. That's all Ozzie does is collect rings. Can you imagine what he'll do without KW screwing him up? He'd have a Bobby Cox-like run, but obviously with many, many more titles.

One of the movies I walked out of was The Aristocrats. It started off funny, but it began to feel like (and literally was) just hearing the same joke over and over again. I've since watched it on TV, and I think I made the right choice. After about the first 20 minutes, the mime was the only thing that made me laugh again. It's sort of funny that Bob Saget is in it, as the movie was the same as his standup. He's funny the first time you see him because "Hey, Danny Tanner is cursing." Then, it's just the same thing over and over again with perhaps a slight variation. I know I shouldn't have expected anything else from the movie, as it is a movie about one particular joke, but it was like listening to a person who's kinda funny but tries way too hard.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) but sometimes, you dont even want to walk out of movies that bad because of how bad they are. It is like you have to witness how hilariously bad the movie is. That happened to me while watching Congo. Congo is one of my favorite "bad" movies, but I think Tim Curry makes anything watchable. I actually sat through the entire length of I Know Who Killed Me. So bad that it was funny.

Let's just hope Quentin and Peavy don't murder their wives.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) The Marlins have, when healthy, one of the better young/talented cores in the game. Hanley Stanton Morrison Sanchez Johnson Nolasco Anibal Sanchez But like you said, that's the wrong division to be in right now. With the run the Phillies are on and that avalanche of talent Atlanta has on the horizon, everybody else is playing for third place. But you add Ozzie to that equation, and Florida would easily have two championships locked up at the minimum.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) Let's say I just patently accept that Juan Pierre is 100% to blame for the three games this season in which he dropped a routine fly ball. Now, let's go ahead and ridiculously assign another 2 whole losses to him for his April offense. There, that's 5 of the 22 losses. Who are the other 17 on? WHO IS SAYING IT'S WHOLLY ON PIERRE?! -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) You need to rewrite your book. He's been a 30 HR/100 RBI guy once and he's certainly not more than adequate in the OF. Well, it's fantasy/fiction.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) The book is out on CQ. Nothing that happens from here on out will change any perception of him. .800-.825-ish OPS, mediocre to bad defensively, and very much injury-prone. And about to get expensive very soon. He's not injury prone. All of the injuries are "freak" injuries. It's not like he keeps re-injuring the same thing. Remember when people actually used that line of reasoning to claim that Quentin and Peavy aren't injury prone?

QUOTE (Teech @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Just went to see Dont Be Afraid of the Dark....i walked out an hour in Seriously? I'm not even a horror fan, and I enjoyed that. I've only ever walked out of, I believe, two movies in my life. I reserve that for the very worst dreck out there.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) Maybe you should go back and actually watch some video footage of those games in April. Pierre directly affected Thorton's April by dropping several easy catches that wound up being blown saves. And why does it even matter? They both contributed heavily to the terrible start. Why is it always one guy or another on this site? It's Ozzie's fault, no it's KW's fault. They are both at fault. Same thing here. -
What should be the Sox focus in the offseason?

Is it possible to pry away one of the Yankees' apparent stud catchers for Danks or Quentin? -
I love that attitude.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) He was a key reason we started out so poorly. You even created an entire thread on how insurmountable our awful start was so I'm not sure it matters that he played better after he helped this team get into a hole which couldn't be overcome. Like. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) Once again it was that awful April that basically killed our chances this year You can't teach logic to a brick wall. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) *enter Victoryautowreckers98 to back up this idiocy* Like.

Is it now clear to everyone that he's trying to get fired?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 12:02 PM) That's a way to take the pressure off of Dunn Ozzie... http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...it-anymore.html That's definitely the mantra of a players' manager. And there are still people that defend him. I thought you weren't supposed to throw your own players under the bus under any circumstance.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) The first 3 seasons are now streaming on Netflix. Buy it for a month and BOOM! No, I've been watching it. I just wasn't home last night to see the new one and the DVR didn't record it correctly.
-
Is there much of a difference between batting Dunn or Rios cleanup? No, not really, but there's still a slightly better chance with one. With the future outlook of this team being quite grim, you have to take every little advantage you can.

WHAT THE HELL? WHITE SOX WINNER? RIOS WALK OFF SLAM?

Could Reinsdorf give Guillen an extension and then have him traded to the Marlins?
