  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) You guys slay me. I see nothing wrong with ANY of those quotes in that story. That's surprising.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) I seem to remember forgetting my admin password on an XP machine years ago and finding a Linux boot ROM online that lets you just change your XP password. This may have been a Windows 2kPro machine, though. google: http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm I'll have to try that, thanks!
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 09:46 AM) Hmm, sounds like someone who might be starting for the Bulls... While I'm sure he received that treatment, I wasn't referring to him or his school. Like I said, this school isn't even good in athletics. For some reason, they treat their athletes like VIP's even though they are consistently mediocre.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 07:52 AM) JoeCStrib JoeChristensen by Buster_ESPN Final: #Royals 7, #Twins 3. Minnesota goes 0-5 on this road trip and is now 9-33 in its past 42 games. Those Twins really know how to do it. They will guarantee themselves a sweet draft pick while we will pick right in the middle of the pack.
  5. I want to root for the Brewers, but something prevents me from really getting behind them. I think they would just become insufferable if they won it all.
  6. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 12:03 AM) My friend and co-worker grew up with and went to school with Desmond Jennings, who's from the Birmingham metro area. My friend said he is dumber than a bag of hammers and that teachers fixed his grades for him. He was also a football player who passed up a scholarship to Alabama to play baseball. I know a high school right in Chicago that was (probably still is) incredibly corrupt when it comes to grading for athletes. The funny thing is that they are mediocre at every major sport and have been for years. I know of at least one incident that would actually likely end with people in jail if it were to get out.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 10:36 PM) Couldn't hurt. What's the RAM, memory, processor on it? No clue, I'd have to check when I'm over there.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) Rios Dunn Beckham Quentin (if he's not traded) Ramirez Morel Flowers Basically everyone on the team but Konerko and AJ. As far as Lillibridge goes for 2012, whether a new approach is wise (cutting down on the swing to make contact and putting more balls in play but sacrificing power) is a coin with two sides of debate. DeAza has clearly excelled in his opportunities...but do we credit Tim Laker more for the success of DeAza, Flowers (well, relative success compared to expectations) and Viciedo than Greg Walker? Does Walker deserve ANY credit for DeAza performing so well? Laker deserves a promotion at this point.
  9. Beckham, hands down. And we should see about a .200 point drop in Konerko's average, judging by all of the praise Walker's given for his swing.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) http://www.mydigitallife.info/forgot-windo...istaxp20032knt/ Thanks for the link, but I couldn't get any of them to work. That computer is so f***ed. I just told them to have a guy we know just completely wipe it and start from scratch.
  11. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) Halladay changed that tonight. That son of a b****!
  12. Not-so-quick question that likely won't have a simple answer: The computer at my family's house is used by a few of my siblings and my mom. My brother took it upon himself to create a separate log-in for himself, but unfortunately his account is the administrator and he forgot his password. This computer is getting pretty old and is definitely on its last legs if a good virus protection isn't installed on it. I've already got this set up (from the account I have, I can put it on 3 different computers). The problem is that I can't install it on their computer because I need to be on the administrator account. My parents don't put enough stock in technology to get a new computer, so it's either save this one or they're going to go a long time before getting a new one. Does anyone know how to clear the accounts or bypass the password? It's XP and the computer is probably from around 2005, perhaps even a littler earlier.
  13. Mark Reynolds, without looking up any advanced stats, had to have been far from one of the worst players ever.
  14. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) Forgive me, but isn't it 3 title (1906, 1917 and 2005) in a 100 year time frame versus one in a gazillion? I was going from the current year, but you'd be correct in that scenario.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) It just means it'll be a very bad film. I'm far too literal.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) I dont get that feeling. Mark would pitch for us regardless of who the manager was. I agree. But if that were the choice, I'd have no problem letting Mark walk.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) I reckon that'll suck rather hard balls. Now, does that mean that the balls will be hard or that the sucking will be aggressive? Because I'm pretty sure that the former would be painful and is a sign of testicular cancer.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:35 PM) Hyperbole? Look, the White Sox have won one World Series in 100 years or whatever it is. Without him ... we do not win that one WS! Conclusion: Yes, said player is a one of the greats in Sox history. Look at pro football. You rarely get a Hall of Fame sniff w/out a Super Bowl title. Joe Crede was crucial in us winning only WS in gazillion years. He is a Sox great. Along with Willie Harris, Geoff Blum, Timo Perez, Shingo Takatsu, Dustin Hermanson, Cliff Politte, Neal Cotts, and Chris Widger. And it's two titles in that 100-year time frame. Man, you're good at this.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) 1.) Jeezus Louisas. Are u kidding? See ya Mark? He is a legend. 2.) Overrated? Great stuff here. Way to treat a Sox legend, Mark Buehrle, perhaps the best pitcher in Sox history, at least modern history. ... 12 wins? Hell I thought wins mean nothing to sabes people anyway. 3.) Excellent post! Did he just prove my point while thinking he was disproving it?
  20. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) Back below .500, where we bear down and play our best Does anyone doubt that, after the Sox are officially eliminated from playoff contention, they will go on a 10-game winning streak?
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) As long as the Tigers win two games the rest of the season, the Sox will have to win out. Seems possible. If the Tigers win just one game, the Sox only have to go 14-1 to take this thing. That's merely a .933 winning percentage, which I think we can pull off since he have yet to hit our real hot streak this season. Take a look at the Tigers' remaining schedule. It's no cakewalk and they're sure to fall apart as they're so prone to do (that one time in 2006). Our destiny is in our own hands. I think as long as we show nothing but support and really get the positive mojo flowing, there's just about nothing that can stop us. OK, so we didn't get it done today. But as I said above, we are still in this thing. Please, nothing but positive thoughts, people!
  22. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) Is it possible Detroit might let them win one? Dumb base running by De Aza. Some of the new guys will be interesting to see how well they do when they aren't hitting. I'd guess that they would do "not well" since they wouldn't be hitting
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Who the hell overrates Mark Buehrle? I'm sure there are people on this site who do. Hell, imagine if he were about to sign elsewhere. Greg would call him the equivalent of Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, or Roy Halladay.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) I finally got to watch this last night, as Sunday was dedicated to being a man and watching football. What a fantastic episode. The Skylar s*** is a little stupid, but at least Walt hadn't bugged her car like I initially thought to see if she was still f*cken around on him. They've done a great job of making me like everyone but Walt, such a smart show. The main character has truly become the antagonist, and Gus is entering "Benjamin Linus" territory of brilliantly shady bad dudeness. I honestly don't think he even cares anymore.
  25. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) I would think so as Jeff for the last 5 or so years has been crazy over. Has Matt always been this crazy? I seem to remember always reading how f***ed up Jeff was but not so much with Matt until the last few months here. Same thing here.
