  1. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) People don't have a problem with Williams signing him because of his track record, but want the track record ignored in July. Ridiculous. I think I'm getting a nosebleed just reading this crap
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) Eh, her character fits into the show well. I know she isn't the most popular or anything, but up until Walt went into the meth business, it makes sense that his wife would be a bit more strong minded than he would. It also makes sense that they would fight for power now. She definitely has a necessary purpose on the show, but she is overused and forced into the plot at times. The same can be said of Gemma, but that situation is much, much worse.
  3. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) fine youre right he should have. bring on next year and the new coaching staff Deal.
  4. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) so ozzie is stupid for playing them so what about all the other teams? ok so some people say dunn sucks becuase he played for ozzie. but ozzie played him everyday. if ozzie benched him right away wouldnt dunn dislike him? i dont understand And what the f*** would Dunn liking or disliking Ozzie have to do with anything whatsoever?
  5. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) so ozzie is stupid for playing them so what about all the other teams? ok so some people say dunn sucks becuase he played for ozzie. but ozzie played him everyday. if ozzie benched him right away wouldnt dunn dislike him? i dont understand Just to be clear, you've changed your argument entirely now?
  6. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) ok maybe not that he was lying but simply that i see around mlb that there are plenty of other teams that have bad players(not to the extreme of dunn obviously)with bad contracts and they play them too So, now it's not Kenny's fault. Ozzie is just doing it because that's what the rest of the league does?
  7. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) some of the earlier pages in this thread, they were saying how players do bad when playing for ozzie , like dunn, javy, swisher, rios, etc. and i just said i dont think players underperform becuase they are playing for him. No, that's not all you just said.
  8. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) i said there has to be something behind it. obviously everyone knows dunn is terrible and should rot on the bench. but he played him for some reason, a reason that isnt that hes so stupid and doesnt know dunn is bad. why? i dont know Exactly. Ozzie Guillen played him for some reason. But don't worry, Melissa is here to tell us that it was Kenny Williams.
  9. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) yea just how everyone made up their own theory that every player sucks under ozzie and thats why we lost the divison I could at least respect your opinion if you just admitted that you are an Ozzie homer, but you have to attempt to make it seem as though you're on a higher level than the vast majority of the board. And let's be clear, you're now just making a straw man here. Nobody is saying that Ozzie is the entire reason we lost the division. We are saying that he is most certainly a reason, and likely one of the larger reasons.
  10. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) i already said, we dont know what actually goes on behind the scenes. Yes, but you're still willing to make up your own theories and then preach and believe them as though they're true. And then you act as though others aren't as wise as you by saying that you find it "funny" that they believe what is told to us by the GM and reporters. And then, when you're confronted with the scenario that you yourself put forward and its inherent ridiculousness, you back off and change the subject entirely.
  11. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) yea becuase it matters sooo much if someone posts "u" or "you" ? laughing out loud* Again, avoiding the point of the post.
  12. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) no, were talking about ozzie right? im just saying i dont buy into anything i read or what people think. we dont know what goes on, we dont work there! jeeze, i wish i could be an idot making 2 million dollars lol You're saying you don't buy into what they say publicly, but at the same exact time, you're willing to make up an absurdly outlandish scenario that would cause KW to be the bad guy and Guillen to be the victim.
  13. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) no, i know ozzie didnt want dunn, ill tell u that much. i love how u can critisize moves that ozzie makes that backfires because its so easy to second guess. ur right ozzie is an idiot and ur a genius I had to go back and reread this post. Past the prepubescent text message grammar, what were you even trying to say? I asked specifically about the scenario of KW "forcing" Guillen to play guys while also keeping quiet about it, and this was your response. What?
  14. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) no, i know ozzie didnt want dunn, ill tell u that much. i love how u can critisize moves that ozzie makes that backfires because its so easy to second guess. ur right ozzie is an idiot and ur a genius So, you're just going to completely change the subject. Cool.
  15. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) well obviously kw is going to say that. what do u want him to say. no ozzie must play all these high priced players? its just funny how everyone acts like they know exactly whats going on. u dont know whats going on behind the scenes. Exactly, all we have to go on is the public stuff. You might think it's funny that people go on that, but what's even funnier is you making up complete bulls*** in order to justify your love of Ozzie Guillen. Then go and read what iwritecode just said. That seems to be what you're saying happened. Do you seriously think for one single f***ing second that Ozzie Guillen would willfully do exactly what KW says and not make mention of it himself in public, despite KW obviously (in this ridiculous scenario) attempting to make Guillen look like the bad guy? You can't possibly think that. That would mean that Guillen is either incredibly, incredibly stupid as to not see himself being set up so blatantly, or he's purposely taking the blame and not making mention of it (laughable, knowing his tendencies to air anything in public).
  16. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 08:25 AM) Really, I have no problem with Ozzie stating this.. Ozzie thought he wasn't ready to play everyday in the big leagues.. and Tank is proving Ozzie right. Please. Even with the skid, he's still hitting .292. Just stop, you're making a fool of yourself.
  17. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) According to the little clip I watched on AMC's website w/ the cast commentating on the episode, Walt was heavily medicated when his son was over, and therefor he let his "tough guy" guard down and let out his emotions. He slipped out of character while on those pills, and when he woke up the next morning, he wanted to set the record straight with his son that he is not a weak person. So, it's pretty much like I said.
  18. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 11:11 AM) im sure management was making him play dunn. they know hes done so why not just release him? because the money. not becuase ozzie Oh, conjecture? That sounds about right. All we have to go off of is what we are told by the team and the writers. We were told that KW said to play the best players, regardless of salary. Since that makes Ozzie look a little worse, you make up a scenario. Awesome.
  19. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) You do realize, I have been here for 2 weeks, and lingered around maybe 2 weeks prior to joining? I didn't go, research every thread/post when stated that comment. But you sure as hell had no problem generalizing the feeling of the entire board.
  20. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:19 AM) Yep, getting a pile of dog dung, and go.. make it gold.. yeah that's Ozzie's fault. Reading you in this thread is hilarious. It's almost like you're pulling a Stephen Colbert, pretending to play the role of the people you're actually mocking.
  21. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 08:14 AM) All that accomplishes is that it gives people something to point to when the Sox are 7-10 games out of it next September. Haha, exactly.
  22. QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 07:45 AM) That whole plotline is obvious and stupid. OF COURSE he wasn't going to settle with the IRS. He's not that type of person. That was the only bad part of last night's episode. The rest (especially the stuff with the cartel) was amazing. Skylar, much like Gemma on Sons Of Anarchy, seems to have a lot of story lines that seem forced into the series. With Gemma, it's because the actress is married to the show's creator. I'm not sure why it happens with Skylar. Either way, I think this story line ends with Beneke dead. I think he'll realize that Skylar could only have gotten that money in some illegal fashion and will attempt to blackmail her. I don't think it's going to end well for him, no matter which way it goes. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 09:33 AM) The Emmy's apparently didn't get notice that Modern Family wasn't very funny this year. Disagreed.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 07:36 AM) Great stuff indeed in that episode. -Loved Walt calling Jr. "Jesse" when he was trying to nurse him back to health. -Jesse f***ing with the chemist was great, especially at the party where Don Elario basically slammed his own guy by saying he couldn't do what Jesse did even with all of his college degrees. -The curveball with Beneke was awesome. You could have figured he would go settle with the IRS, instead he buys himself a new Mercedes and reopens the business. -Is Walt breaking down, or was that all staged with his crying scene? The whole "how you remember thing" is a great dual meaning, not only with seeing him in a stupor, but what about when Walt gets caught for being the best supplier of meth around? -Will the remnants of the cartel through the rest of Mexico let Gus, Mike, and Jesse make it back to the US? -If they were in the middle of Mexico, where were all of the Latinas at? They had an awful lot of white girls in bikinis at that party. I'm sure there are plenty of white whores in Mexico just for the Cartel alone. That didn't bother me. Plus, you may or may not know, there are plenty of European-looking people in certain areas of Mexico. I think Walt was definitely breaking down before he fell asleep, but the whole speech after he woke up could go either way. Also, it took me like 5 minutes to realize that the Mexican chemist was the mob boss in Boondock Saints.
  24. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Yeah, that's also a good possibility. I was just thinking that there might be some homer who gives his vote to someone else. Of course there will be. Weaver and Sabathia will both get a few votes.
  25. Gus Fring is now, without a doubt, my favorite f***ing character on Breaking Bad. That episode just flew by, and it was easily one of the best of the series.
