The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) If they aren't on board by now they will never be. I can't argue with that, especially with some people.

a "successful season" in the major leagues
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 12:16 PM) I think the playoff structure is perfect as it is. Adding more teams to the postseason would be pathetic. Agreed. And success is relative to the team. It's not a tough concept to understand.

The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) I would have agreed with you but I kind of want to see them fail just because of J4L. I want them to succeed so that people will see that it's possible to compete in any division. It would illustrate how pathetic we've been in our own division and hopefully get people to get on board for a new direction for this team.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) 24? Low budget? Your new assignment is to watch that series while skipping season 6. It is the absolute s***. I've seen random episodes. It honestly looks hokey.

Why Would Guillen Want To Stay?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) Right. Either them or Tampa Bay. And in the NL, it's either St. Louis or Atlanta. I don't even see what you're getting at.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:19 AM) Oh yeah, he was breaking down and completely realized how much he f***ed things up with Jesse. Chloe's hubby in 24. I never watched 24. It always seemed too low-budget for me and over-the-top cheesy/unbelievable.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) I cannot express how fantastic that episode was... Gus needs a shopping cart just to carry his balls around. With how badass they're making Gus, if Walt ends up killing him, it had better be the climactic point of the series and extremely hard to accomplish.

Go ahead, drill the Sox
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Don't worry, I'm sure Ozzie will order retaliation against the real enemy next week...Mark Teahen Oh man, wouldn't that prove so much if he did attempt to hit him? Now I hope he does, just so it makes Ozzie look worse.

Go ahead, drill the Sox
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) We don't need to get in to a discussion of retaliation and beanball wars. Wild pitches by youthful rookies is the issue. I don't think you are going to hear a lot of chipping of teeth by the Sox or any team on a matter like this. If the coaching staff collectively feel it needs to be done they will plunk the opposing team as needed and won't be signaling their intentions to the media. If Ozzie Guillen told you that the world was round, I think you'd believe it.

2011 Films Thread
QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) I was saying that during every preview before the movie. God, what a s***pile of movies coming out soon. Ugh. While I've noticed that upcoming movies do look pretty bad, I gotta say that your moniker is absolutely perfect. Nothing seems to please you

The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 04:02 AM) Jose Bautista. I want to see Fielder or Pujols end up in Toronto so badly. That would be so awesome. I want the Blue Jays to compete and make that division a 4-team race every year.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Old school... Verlander and Kershaw both lead their leagues in the triple crown categories...ERA, wins, and strikeouts. Done deal. They are the Cy Young winners. Before Kershaw pitched last night, Verlander was again leading the entire MLB in the triple crown. Nobody is surpassing Verlander in wins, and likely not in K's, but I have a feeling that the lowest ERA will go to the guy who pitches last in the season. I don't feel like looking at the schedules to figure out who that will be, but I really want Verlander to get the triple crown in all of baseball.

So shutttt as doug hefernan would say Ozzie Guillen grew up in a foreign country. As far as I know, Oney grew up right here in America. How the f*** is his English so f***ing bad? It's infuriating.

Cooper and/or Ozzie status could affect MB coming back next year
Haha, that was the most thorough owning in Soxtalk history. The sad part is that he'll deny it or flat-out ignore it.

Alejandro De Aza continues to play very steady ball
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) If you thought I was talking 2011, Pierre, than you are a bigger fool than the one who wanted Lilly to replace Dunn. And I have some Ocean property in Utah to sell to you. HRs are great, but if you think they are needed in leadoff spot, and not a luxury.. I suggest you educate yourself on the game. Keep it up

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians, GAME 2
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) The Bust with 3 doubles. These games are meaningless, but hopefully he's on to something. I like that nickname.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) If just once someone blamed Cooper and was actually serious about it, when a pitcher sucked like they blame Walker when a hitter sucked, I'd stop my crusade. I'm guessing it's mostly due to Cooper's reputation of taking a guy that formerly underachieved and turning him into a legitimate pitcher. With Walker, the reverse seems to happen or there is little improvement, if any at all.

Ozzie is leaving on a jetplane
QUOTE (MEANS @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) i think he combined logan morrison into one name... But he did it in reverse order, like he misheard his name read off at a court date.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) Just guessing...remember that fire at a Great White concert a few years back that killed like 30 people? Nope... Either way, a few years back would seem like open season at a roast. I'm guessing it's something else.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) Yes. His players regularly fail. His record speaks for itself. Same reason Ozzie must go. Only fair way to evaluate is in aggregate: he's had some successes but simply not enough. He has failed at his job. But Cooper failed as much, if not more...apparently.

Cooper and/or Ozzie status could affect MB coming back next year
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:10 PM) So go back and find the link, lazy. It's on you to post it. Never mind that you already did it. It's on you to post it again.

Alejandro De Aza continues to play very steady ball
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 07:04 PM) At best, he has a Juan Pierre type season.. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) So pretty much you just summed up what Pierre did at age 28... Thank you agreeing, at best he is Pierre. Ha, so you assumed people would think you meant that he would have a Juan Pierre type of season from when Juan Pierre was 28 and not the current Juan Pierre? Nice try there.

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians, GAME 2
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) They are making a big deal out of the 10k the Sox get if they finish second. Why doesn't Ozzie just give each coach 10k? He can give it as a gift, and he's always popping off how rich he is. It's incredibly insulting to the fans.
