  1. That was so close. So very close.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Am I actually seeing an argument between two of the most optimistic posters on this site? Next thing you know is that Milkman and I are going to get into an argument. I was thinking the same thing. Oh, and you suck.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) Shut up It's just simply amazing that we're almost 100 games into the season, and we still have the same holes on our roster that we did the opening weekend. Somewhere along the line, our rotation has become a hole, too.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) I would have rather had a righty on the bench we could have hit in that situation. Lefties have no prayer against Rivera. Of course, Gload continues to be a waste of a roster spot. What the f*** are you talking about? Gload can do everything Mackowiak does for a fraction of the cost. He's just not getting a chance.
  5. Uribe fails. That is not surprising since he put himself in such a hole with the terrible bunts. Ozzie, please realize that nobody on our team has the ability to bunt. Stop being a dumbass.
  6. Well, we've screwed up another bunt. We are pathetic.
  7. Uribe beat Rivera last year in the Bronx. Let's do it again.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) Or I could just ban ya for making a post like this. Is the description under your name from Family Guy? The one where they show Bill Clinton sitting naked in a chair in the Oval Office?
  9. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) Garcia was hitting 92-93 consistently on the gun that inning. Looks like he can still throw it when he wants. He better stop being a woman and do this more often. I'm sure the gun's just wrong.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) I think Freddy is still in because he's not in line for the W yet. Exactly. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Uncle Ozzie has to look out for his own.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Detroit's pitching has looked quite mediocre vs the Royals. It's the beginning of their downfall.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) I think the opposite....he put us in a huge hole rather early in this game. He's just lucky he's buddies with Ozzie....95 pct of MLB starters would have been pulled in the 4th inning. I was being extremely sarcastic. You know me better than that.
  13. As bad as Garcia's pitched today, he's really kept us in the game.
  14. That was a damn good job, Jim, Paul, and Jermaine. You guys rock when we get runners on with nobody out.
  15. Wow, the middle of our order really knows how to f*** up a big opportunity.
  16. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) I call bulls***. I can remember Konerko throwing out Pierre offhand, and I believe there are a couple more. From the outfield. Throwing someone out at home from the infield is very different.
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Why did we send him? Carbrera had the ball before Crede even got into 3rd. I don't know how all of you can keep asking this question. If you haven't seen by now that Joey Cora is a dumbass of a 3B coach, you haven't been paying attention. Taking all of the 3B coaches in baseball, I can't imagine there are many that are worse than Cora. He's one step away from being "Waving" Wendell Kim.
  18. The Yankees have thrown out more runners at home today (1) than we have all season.
  19. First, I just want to make sure that Freddy just gave up three straight doubles to Andy Phillips, Miguel Cairo, and Bubba Crosby. He can't be that bad, can he? I sure hope KW can trade Garcia before his next start, because his value is decreasing with every start and every 88 mph fastball. Honestly, I used to be able to hit 85 mph. To think that I used to be able to throw roughly as hard as this guy boggles my mind. All in all, Freddy Garcia is very, very bad.
  20. And Freddy's ERA continues its meteoric rise.
  21. I just looked it up, and Garcia's ERA is now 5.04. We have three, count 'em, THREE starters with ERA's over 5. That is absolutely pathetic. We have the worst rotation of any AL playoff contender basically. Jaret Wright is better than most of our rotation. Think about that and die a little inside.
  22. Has Garcia's ERA reached the mythical 5.00 yet?
  23. Hawk is really tearing into the pitching today. I mean, in Hawk's homeristic way of tearing into any part of the team. It's quite obvious that he's extremely disappointed in them. And we still haven't thrown anyone out at home this year.
