  1. Bring on the bandwagoners. We can use them.
  2. QUOTE(Dawgs @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) Your numbers are wrong. Tigers 17-3, Sox 15-5, Twins 17-3. The Sox, despite a 9 game winning streak, have lost two games in the standings to both Detroit and Minnesota. Kinda disheartening isnt it? Now that's just starting s***. Why hasn't this guy gotten the boot?
  3. There are serious problems for this team right now. Three starters have really bad ERA's. They make like 25 million dollars. That is way past unacceptable. And Widger cannot call a baseball game anymore. Those are real problems that will bite us in the ass come playoff time. Whoever said we're like the 2005 Red Sox hit it right on the head. We can't have guys with ERA's of 4.65, 5.00, and 5.76 starting playoff games. Teams with great offenses and bad pitching usually don't win it all.
  4. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) Get off the ledge. I CAN'T. I NEED MIGUEL OLIVO!
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Where does it say he has to pich 2 innings? The starter usually does pitch that long. I have no problem with Contreras pitching in the game, just not starting it. We want the best guy out there for the most innings and to set the tone. Count is not that guy right now.
  6. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) $45.5M if my math is correct. That's a whole lot of money for the performances they've been putting in.
  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Billions, and they suck massive dick. Well, clearly. SS2k5, who showed up after the game to b****?
  8. How much money does our rotation make this year?
  9. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Since when has being an All-Star been about who's the most deserving?????? Make him your starter, Ozzie. No, it's no longer about just having a White Sox pitcher start for pride. This game means something for us. Contreras has been bad his last few starts, and he'll have to face the NL's best for at least 2 innings. I'd rather go with the sure bet in Santana or Halladay.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Horrible, terrible... ?
  11. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:08 PM) We've won, what, 13 out of the last 16? WE SUCK. Come on people. They're not all going to have sub 3 ERA's as starters and sub 1.5 ERA's as relief guys. Has it been all roses? No. But it's not been a bad stretch here, and we all know we're going to probably pick up an arm before the trade deadline. The starters have been almost terrible this year. That can't be argued. They're making a whole lot of money, but they're not pulling their weight. A lot of this winning streak is due to the offense and bullpen. The starters need to get their collective s*** together.
  12. The bullpen has not been the problem. Early on in the year, sure, they were a problem. But, for a long period of time up to this point, they've been consistent to great. The problem, is our $40 billion rotation. They have sucked some serious dick on the year, and even Contreras is having bad games now.
  13. Widger has really lost his luster from last year. He can't hit now, and he certainly can't call a game. What's his CERA this year? Contreras has been bad for a few starts. I hope he gets his ass back on track And Politte...man. Get off this team. Oh, and I'm pretty confident, as are most here, that the Tigers will easily sweep the Pirates.
  14. No chance he deserves it anymore. Besides, with the way he's been pitching, we should go with Halladay or Santana because we want home field advantage for the WS. Contreras hasn't been pitching well at all, let alone well enough to ensure that he'll shut down the NL all stars.
  15. Cliff Politte can stay in Pittsburgh. He's done.
  16. Well, I hope Bobby likes to pitch 40 days in a row.
  17. Who else let out a huge "PHEW!" after that inning?
  18. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) What are you serious? Contreras could have given up 8 in 2+ today and still started the All-Star Game. I'd like to see him start and all, but now there's a few guys with better stats.
  19. According to gameday, Contreras' ERA is 3.54 now. Goodbye, ASG starter.
  20. Just got in, did Contreras give up all those runs? If so, he's been off for quite a few starts.
