Official Twinkies Suck Thread
Alright, Boone is batting .189 with a .231 OBP in 9 games for the Twins. Didn't they say he has like 10 days to prove something or he's out? Looks like he's just about out of baseball. That is, unless he goes to Tampa Bay (the graveyard for formerly good ML players).

The AJ Burnett 24 Hour Window Thread
QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) Burnett looked good against a pathetic Giants lineup. He could've thrown an 11-inning perfect game against the Cardinals in a bandbox stadium and someone would come up with an excuse to not get him. With the way Ozzie talked about him today and all the speculation, coupled with Marte's inconsistency, I think the chances are rising that we land him. I'm still not convinced we're getting him, though.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) I am so happy for JC! Congrats for getting the RedSox off your back! He beat them last year, too. This time was much better, though.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great game for the offense and for Contreras. I have to say this, though. We should've swept this series.

Once again, we're lucky Pods is really fast. If not, we'd be looking at no outs, and a 2 run lead with 2 runners on for Manny.

Seriously, this guy sucks. Hawk is more pissed than I am. I hope to God that Hermanson doesn't give up a 3-run bomb.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 05:10 PM) Chill out... that ball wasn't hit very hard at all. If Pods wasn't so fast, that ball would've landed just in fair territory.

Marte about to walk the leadoff hitter. Trade this s***bag. And there's the walk.

f***ing A, Politte. Now will Hermanson pitch the 9th? No matter who's out there, they're gonna have to see at least Ortiz.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) The pitch he popped out was a hanger that should go 425 ft. That's what I was saying. It was a bad pitch by the pitcher. Shouldn't someone else have started this inning? It's not like we don't have like 3 more dependable relievers after Cotts.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) He's gotten on base twice today and drove in 2. THere are much better days to bash him. Save your energy for those. No, then I wouldn't be sticking to my guns. He sucks and I'll say it every single day, even when he does occasionally do well.

Haha. Konerko is so predictable and bad, that it's funny. He took a cookie for the first pitch. He popped out looking for a homer, on a bad pitch. This guy sucks.

It would be nice if they brought Timlin in instead. That guy has let just about every inherited runner score this year.

Cotts is awesome. He aced two guys, one being just about the best hitter in baseball, then he got one of the other best hitters in baseball to ground out.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) And our offense goes into hibernation again. The BP has to hold it down I hate how they do this sometimes. They light up the pitcher through a couple innings, then it's, "meh, this is enough."
