  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) We'll need to score plenty of runs to win today. I fully expect Contreras to give up between 5-7 runs in about 4 or 5 innings. I'll point this out before anyone else does. Glad to be wrong, but we still might need to get some more runs to win this.
  2. Phew, out of it. Anyone ever notice how the pitcher (on any team) never K's the hitter when the crowd first comes to their feet with 2 strikes?
  3. God, Ozzie is a terrible in-game manager. Great at keeping the team together, though.
  4. I hope Vizcaino can hold them down, then Contreras will have a good start and we'll still be looking good.
  5. And another hit. Ozzie, get your f***ing ass up. Contreras shouldn't have been in this inning.
  6. Oh gee, Contreras was in too long. None of us called that one.
  7. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) I'd let him go till he get's either in trouble or Ortiz comes up again w/ runners on. If we let him get in trouble, we might as well give the Red Sox the game. You can't make mistakes against an offense like that.
  8. Contreras got through another inning, now I'm torn. I don't want to take a chance in letting him pitch another inning, but I also don't want to let Vizcaino pitch. Pick your poison, I guess.
  9. There's one thing I want to see less than I want to see Contreras pitch against the Red Sox, and that's Luis Vizcaino pitching against the Red Sox.
  10. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) Can somebody tell me what just happened? Top 5TH B:3 S:2 O:1 Johnny Damon grounds out, pitcher Jose Contreras to second baseman Tadahito Iguchi to first baseman Ross Gload. It was just a groundout to Iguchi.
  11. Wow, Pods was out by a mile. On a day where Iguchi is hitting well, maybe we should let him swing.
  12. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 03:25 PM) Man Oakland is surging. Bot. 6 they lead Texas 1-7. They got terrific pitching and their bats are hot I heard a good argument against them, though. Their starters are all young, and they might tire out by the end of the season.
  13. Hawk really stepping out on a limb to say that the Angels are the second-best team. Think he's going by records?
  14. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) what was he doing with it? Strangling puppies. He was spraying the fans.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) One of the few problems I have is dealing Marte (in some rumors) without a capable bullpen arm behind him. Everyone knows I thing Baj is capable, but do we really want Kevin Walker if we don't get a LOOGY? That's scary. I think everyone assumes that KW will make another trade for a LOOGY. I can't picture him letting Walker suck for this team anymore.
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) I would appreciate if you could point out for me where I said that. Really. I must be slow today. If you could do that, that would be greaaaaaaaaaaaaat. Thanks. Yeah, I'm gonna need you to come in this weekend and cover the trade rumors.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Is Soxtalk crashing on anybody else? It did for me, too. It happens from time to time for me.
  18. Pods with the double, I'm surprised he didn't get three there.
  19. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Finally, PK comes through and Ramirez really is a bad OFer.
  20. Everett had his pitch to hit, and he screwed it up again. That's how we beat ourselves.
