QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) I guess he got a bad infection from the bug bite What the f***? He might as well have kicked through a glass table or fell up stairs while carrying groceries. This better be like a one-game deal.
-
Alright, this better mean that just one of Dye or Thomas is hurt. I really hope they both aren't.
-
Sweet, Dave's here. If this is true, I'm glad that Gload is coming but sad that Thomas is hurt, of course.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) If I was the cubs, I would be shopping Wood around all day long. Who wants him?? Come on people. Thats what I would be saying. Give me 3 prospects and we have a deal. Wood to the Yankees? Wait, they don't have 3 prospects.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) El Duque is our only real playoff seasoned starter. We are going to need him in the playoffs if we make it. Duque isn't going to magically become healthy again for the playoffs. He's much older than he was when he had most of his playoff success, anyway. His last 5 starts in the postseason were erratic, some great, some terrible. I'd part with him over Contreras, especially since we'd have 4 good starters in Buehrle/Garcia/Garland/Whoever is traded here.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Im just saying, he seems to be a little more consistant than AJ Burnett, and is a pretty good second half player. He also has some playoff experience. He is a lefty and would fit our rotation nicely. I think LA's asking price would be lower, and then would take JC. It'd be nice if they'd take Duque instead. I'm not a fan of either Cuban really, but Contreras is less of an injury threat and is seemingly younger.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) ESPN insider claims the Odalis Perez is being shopped around. This is a player that I wanted in the offseason, and I still would want now. I think he is better and may cost us less than the already crowded market for AJ and Schmidt. He also threw 7 scoreless innings today signaling that he may indeed be back from his injury. He did it in Philly, too. That's pretty impressive. I wanted him this offseason, too. Maybe KW will make a move.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) The Sox have got to decide whether or not its advantageous to acquire Vizquel right now, when they wouldn't offer him a 3 year deal in the off-season. Sure he probably contribute next season, but what about in 2007? I cannot stress this enough. :finger 2007 right in its
-
I'd take Burnett, but I'd much rather have Schmidt. The latter has had much more success. And I'd rather replace El Duque instead of Contreras, but eh. I'll just trust what KW does, as long as that isn't standing pat.
-
I prefer to think that we're going to make the playoffs, only because I don't know what I'll do if they blow this lead.
-
Let's stop making Pods be a platoon player. How about that? If Pods is in the game, it's completely different. Guess he needed a day off since he hadn't had one in about 3 days, and he's only batting over .300 against lefties.

Those fireworks didn't even sound right. It just sounded like a truck passed by.

QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) It is not about giving up. It is about being consistent. Stop swining at first pitch balls in the dirt, 2-0 pitches that are popeed up or again swung at in the dirt. Fight off tough pitces by hitting them foul not popping them up or weakly rolling out. Everyone insists on pulling the ball. Our starters (all of them) and bullpen are winning games we need more consistent offense. STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE!
-
QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) I think it is time to move konerko down to 6 or 7 and put Thomas fourth. konerko is now on pace to have under 100 rbi. Inexcusable if Iguchi is going to give up at bats for no just cause becasue this asswipe can't drive anyone in. Konerko and Jenks for Thome/Wagner and Cash (lots of cash) Konerko's RBI total is a disgrace for what he's got in front of him. A legitimate clean up hitter with Pods and Iguchi in front of him would probably have 20-25 more RBI than him.

Guys, they're all trying very hard. Give them a break.

Yay for throwing away outs.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) No one would turn on him if he didn't suck. That's the right way to go about it, though.

Was it off of B.J. Ryan again?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Still raining at the park. That's strange, then. There's not a drop falling a few blocks away.
