  1. if mark doesnt sign the contract, i dont think that neccessarily means that kenny trades him. if contreras gets a better package, i'd look for contreras to go, and keep mark for the year. weather or not they revisit extension at the end of the year would be doubtful. kenny said he wanted to get the ball rolling on his retooling, not that he wanted to sign or trade..... but it could go either way
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) If there's a deal, it won't be announced until Monday. Between the Bulls draft and the big Cubs series, Monday would be the perfect time to announce it prior to Buehrle taking the mound at the Cell. i dont think they could stand to wait over the weekend if the deal has been reached... too much speculation.
  3. it's likely that hahn would be submitting the paperwork to MLB after returning to chicago.....
  4. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) Allow me then! This just popped up on Yahoo! Sports rumors... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/mlb_exper...h?urn=mlb,37817 Just for fun, what statement does the author make that's an immediate red flag as to his knowledge of the situation? that's not a rumor, that's crap
  5. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) did anyone listen to the pre-game on the score? farmer stated that Buehrle mentioned to him prior to the game that he really wanted 15/y, however he didnt state how many years so 4/60 instead of 4/50 probably keeps mark on the SS durring the game, farmer said mark told him he wanted 13....
  6. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 05:25 PM) Both FoxSports and SI claim they have their own sources. If it were coming from Cowley, they would just say, "The Chi ST reports..." or something like that. So now it's Cowley, 670, Rosenthal, and SI vs the Trib and AM 1000. And even the Trib is reporting about Hahn making a trip to Tampa. Whatever's going on, I can't believe it's as simple as the quotes from Buehrle's agent made it sound. the si.com report does mention cowley's article... but not directly saying that is what their sole source was
  7. QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:57 PM) Breaking News... Mark Buerhle reportedly has signed a 7-year / $140mm extension with the White Sox. Buerhle immediately stated that he would have accepted the original 4yr/$50mm extension originally discussed but he made the White Sox up their offer so he could donate the additional $90mm to the Save the Prairie Dog organization. "I just think they are so cute" said Buerhle. Buerhle also required that a Prairie Dog habitat be maintained in the Sox Bullpen and that 25% of the "SoxSplit" raffle go towards the organization. stoppit
  8. according to another blurb on the chicagosports.com, the $$ doesnt seem too far off.... ....quote from Milwaukee's Bob Melvin...
  9. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:24 AM) With Thome out, we're going to have to get someone. Frank Thomas
  10. QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) My comcast says that that's the cubs game the cubs game starts at like 1:30 or 2 am, the sox game is not on the guide info
  11. i'd take an OF of rowand/anderson/dye 4th of pods/erstad anderson day off, rowand takes center, the 4th of gets left
  12. ripken could very well deserve a unanimous election, seeing as his consecutive games record
  13. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) If the White Sox really do see something wrong with Sisco and Floyd, and have rehabbed the careers of Thornton and MacDougal, then there should be some pitching coaches fired around the league and Don Cooper better get a big ol' raise! there really wasnt anything wrong with macdougal, he was just injured....
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) And for that reason alone, despite what other people may think, I think unless there's a signing or a trade from elsewhere, that 25th man spot is going to Luis Terrero. YAY!!!
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) Rogo played LF quite a bit in the minors. musta missed that we'll have to see how he does come spring training, but with all the other of prospects, he's not likely to get a shot at much
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) And a guy like Rogowski or Terrero can easily replace Gload on the bench That's something i doubt. While I dont mind this trade, as it addresses a need, Ross is an excellent bench player... i think he has been our best bench player the past 2 seasons. where else have you seen someone get as few ab's as ross, and have him contribute as he did? sooo many guys would be stone cold sitting on the bench that much... but ross? no way. Rogo would be a long shot to get a bench spot, since he's a 1b/dh only... not flexible enough. at least ross could play right if he had to. I'd prefer for macowiak to not play 1st, keep him on the left side of the infield or spot left.
  17. oh wouldnt it be nice if crede's statement that he'll sign where he wants to, regardless of what his agent wants was true?
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) ...that cap looks like a backwards red white sox hat...
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) I dont think the Cubs are even that desperate to give Marquis 10 million a year... nope, but they did give him 3 years 20 mil
  20. the thome trade was day after thanksgiving, black friday.... rowand got the news when he was still at home with family...
  21. this renovation is not part of the us cellular deal... that deal is over and done with, as far as the remodeling goes. the aditional revenue that is projected to be available for player signings is from ticket sales only.

    Zito?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) He will drive your ass nuts with the walks, he's similar to Contreras at the beginning of last season, you just know he's going to go ou there and walk 3-4 guys a game, constantly getting into jams. He's walked 66 batters this year, that's 2nd in the AL only to Daniel Cabrera. Also, I don't see any way you can get him without giving up McCarthy. hmmm... I can't believe no one has said COOP CAN FIX HIM
  23. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) What happened to Berry Zito? Peavy's been having arm problems most of the season. San Diego is desperate for offense, but I couldn't see them trading their best starter who's about to come healthy when that division is still wide open. if he goes anywhere that has already been mentioned, it's new york

    Gload

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) What teams would be interested in him for a starting spot? Most non - contenders like Pittsburgh have the likes of Sean Casey anyways. pitt is likely to package casey or burnitz with hernandez in a trade
