ripken could very well deserve a unanimous election, seeing as his consecutive games record

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) If the White Sox really do see something wrong with Sisco and Floyd, and have rehabbed the careers of Thornton and MacDougal, then there should be some pitching coaches fired around the league and Don Cooper better get a big ol' raise! there really wasnt anything wrong with macdougal, he was just injured....

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) And for that reason alone, despite what other people may think, I think unless there's a signing or a trade from elsewhere, that 25th man spot is going to Luis Terrero. YAY!!!

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) Rogo played LF quite a bit in the minors. musta missed that we'll have to see how he does come spring training, but with all the other of prospects, he's not likely to get a shot at much

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 16, 2006 -> 06:00 PM) And a guy like Rogowski or Terrero can easily replace Gload on the bench That's something i doubt. While I dont mind this trade, as it addresses a need, Ross is an excellent bench player... i think he has been our best bench player the past 2 seasons. where else have you seen someone get as few ab's as ross, and have him contribute as he did? sooo many guys would be stone cold sitting on the bench that much... but ross? no way. Rogo would be a long shot to get a bench spot, since he's a 1b/dh only... not flexible enough. at least ross could play right if he had to. I'd prefer for macowiak to not play 1st, keep him on the left side of the infield or spot left.

oh wouldnt it be nice if crede's statement that he'll sign where he wants to, regardless of what his agent wants was true?

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) ...that cap looks like a backwards red white sox hat...

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) I dont think the Cubs are even that desperate to give Marquis 10 million a year... nope, but they did give him 3 years 20 mil -
the thome trade was day after thanksgiving, black friday.... rowand got the news when he was still at home with family...

this renovation is not part of the us cellular deal... that deal is over and done with, as far as the remodeling goes. the aditional revenue that is projected to be available for player signings is from ticket sales only.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) He will drive your ass nuts with the walks, he's similar to Contreras at the beginning of last season, you just know he's going to go ou there and walk 3-4 guys a game, constantly getting into jams. He's walked 66 batters this year, that's 2nd in the AL only to Daniel Cabrera. Also, I don't see any way you can get him without giving up McCarthy. hmmm... I can't believe no one has said COOP CAN FIX HIM

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) What happened to Berry Zito? Peavy's been having arm problems most of the season. San Diego is desperate for offense, but I couldn't see them trading their best starter who's about to come healthy when that division is still wide open. if he goes anywhere that has already been mentioned, it's new york
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) What teams would be interested in him for a starting spot? Most non - contenders like Pittsburgh have the likes of Sean Casey anyways. pitt is likely to package casey or burnitz with hernandez in a trade

QUOTE(korntownballa @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) I heard rumor about the Red Sox geting Jake Peavy and Scott Linebrink for only Willi Mo Pena Juilan Tavarez and Cash in a 3 team deal. So I was wondering why not we offer the Padres B-McC and Fields for those 2? I think that is a LOT better htan what the Red Sox offeredt them. Thoughts? mccarthy aint moving no where

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) It's believed to be Mark Buehrle, now. Indeed, buster just said on bbtn that the red sox offered crisp for buehrle and sox said HECK NO... well ok they said no, i added the rest

QUOTE(dyenamite23 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 10:43 PM) i was just reading si and saw something about the sox maybe getting rowand back 4 vazquez this works we can get bmac into the rotation say wha??? yer nutz

.... so if KDub told Stark that he listens to anything, then how could he say without a doubt that he is not trading any body at the major league level????

QUOTE(ChiSox9 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 10:46 AM) He was a third baseman in minor league ball. Played 5 games for the Sox at 1st in 1999 and was a normal outfielder ever since. He has 6 years of OF service under his belt whereas Soriano was just moved to LF this season. I think if a team is looking to get a solid LF with proven experience then CLee would be the way to go. Not saying that I want the Sox to get him, but be it that he is the solid OF, in turn i believe he would decrease SOriano's trade value. not picking on you, specifically, but there is not ONE chance that CLee plays another game in a sox uni, until ozzie is no longer manager.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 09:21 AM) I suggested that because maybe you could get the Dodgers pay a bit of his deal, like they did with Odalis Perez. And with Podsednik probably leaving next season (even though he is arbitration eligible IIRC), we'll need a leadoff hitter to replace him. Upgrading from Uribe, seems like the best choice for me, if you can't get a guy like Carl Crawford. Plus if you trade Garcia, you save the $10M you'll have to pay him next season as well. You might as well put that money towards something right? one word... CREDE

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) Why aren't we winning? Because bench improvements are marginal improvements and make only small differences, if any, in the standings. WRONG we arent winning because our pitching aint pitching, and our hitting aint hitting has nothing to do with aquiring bench players or not

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) Can we get a break? Please! we got our break with the tag/out at the plate last night

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) WHy do the umps hate this team. It has continued on this year. Even after we won the series. dont forget... we now have questech installed at USCF

haha... take that you sandy haters hahaha the lojack thing has been around all season, or at least mentioned each time

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) If there are 3 deals, you got believe they are Soriano in, Vazquez out, and a minor trade for a backup OF. I see nothing else Kenny could do logically, unless there's a bigger trade none of us can even draw up. scotty, uribe, and freddy for a-rod, cabrera and cash ... scotty can play lf/center, freddy can help with pitching, and uribe can do ss/2b to assist with cano being on DL or if you want to throw washington in the mix too, wash gets yankees stud pitch 'spect, along with liotta/sweeney, yanks get broadway, soriano, sox get a-rod, church and cash
-
QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) if we resign Soriano, does that mean crede gone. imho, the only way crede is gone is if he lets boras outprice his services... which joe said would not happen
