  1. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) All I have to say is we better be able to beat a guy who's 1-7........ um he's 1-7 because he hasn't gotten any run support. His ERA is in the 3's.
  2. I wouldn't mind it if he his a bench player or something like that. He would be playing in a great hitters park. His stats could only go up playing here. Not as a starter but just as a bat off the bench. You can do a lot worse. He also has a lot experience.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) With that cupcake schedule, they should be. don't worry they will find some way to blow it again.
  4. I have PIP. Whichever game is closer will be the main picture.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:24 AM) Not a movie.. but I watched Chris Rock on HBO last night (taped show from DC from last year I think)... good God that man is hysterical. do you have any of his DVD's. If you don't you should get some of them because they are hysterical.
  6. Anybody know who Michael Bay's ex girlfriend is? Hint: We have become very familiar with her.
  7. he will hit one either in Fenway or Yankee Stadium. They are extremely short down the lines.
  8. QUOTE(chisoxfan14 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) If you search on google, you'll find Ozzie's wife! And hawk, and d.j said that a.j's wife is expecting, and so is crede's wife! didn't Crede's daughter get hit in the head by a foul ball in ST a couple of years ago?
  9. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) watched the alexander director's cut. fight scenes-good, rosario dawson's fun bags-great, homosexual scenes-could have done without although wasn't as bad as expected. overall not bad and worth a rental, even if for nothing other than rosario's fun bags... loved that movie. I saw Team America. It's great. i couldn't stop laughing during the movie. THe movie does have probably one of the most graphic sex scenes in movie history.
  10. I really want to see that movie. It looks like a great popcorn flick.
  11. intriguing pitching matchups against New York and Boston: Monday: El Duque vs. Pavano Tuesday: Contreras vs. Mussina Wednesday: Garcia vs. Chacon Friday: Buehrle against his mentor David Wells
  12. Very good pitching matchup tommorow: Buehrle vs. Moyer
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) We won those games against Boston because we played solid fundamental baseball, got a lot of base runners, and were able to avoid the big inning. What's been killing us lately is that exact opposite of that. And when I'm referring to bullpens, I'm talking about being able to come from behind late in the game like we did so often against KC this year. You're right, Gordon/Rivera and Timlin/Schilling are just as bad as Sisco/Macdougal are. If you really think that the bullpens are similar, you're nuts. The Yankees and Red Sox have released a lot of the relievers that were killing their bullpen ERA. yes but with the way their starters have been throwing it's 5 and done for them. Than you can't use Gordon for 3. They have a lot of trouble getting the ball to Gordon.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) His ERA pre game was 6+. Thats not the mark of a pretty good pitcher. he also has an ERA of 4.03 for his career. So he's having a bad year however his career numbers aren't that bad.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Is that sarcasm? no he won 15 games in 03. He has very good stuff.
  16. You know what Pinero pitched a very good game and he is a pretty good pitcher. So tip your cap to him and move on.
  17. Remember also that Reinsdorf is friends with Thomas so he will probably tell KW to resign him. Like him or not Reinsdorf has always been loyal to longtime Sox Players who have been loyal to him. They will get something done.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) We didn't tell him to take a hike we tried to send him down to Charlotte, as a matter of fact he accepted the assignment but changed his mind before reporting and requested his release. but that is exactly what Ozzie did to him by refusing to give him consistent work. Look what Viz was able to do when he got consistent work. Shingo is one of those guys and Ozzie should've given him that work especially when Marte went down since that was when Shingo was on his hot streak.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) This is one move I would make if I were the yanks. Shingo was showing flashes of getting back to his form of last year, low risk high reward type move for them. i think he would have success with the yankees. He would be used for sure because of how weak their rotation is right now. Also that is a big ballpark which will benefit any pitcher.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) What are Ichiro's numbers against Buehrle? I think they're heavily in favor of Ichiro. Where can I look up information like a player vs. player? Mark Buehrle 24 12 0 1 0 4 0 1 .500 .500 .583 1.083
  21. Ichiro is 0 for his last 19. Anybody who is going should go for BP because Ichiro puts on a show. He hits a ton of Home Runs and these aren't cheap shots either.
  22. I think Marte this year has also taught us how ERA is one of the worst stats to judge relievers on.
