QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Why were they using him as a starter when he got sent down in the spring? I'm not b****in or anything...just wondering what the Sox brass thinking was...just to get him more innings? I think Adkins could be pretty good...he just has a tendency to give up too many long balls if I recall. that might be putting it lightly. Hitters hit .305 against him last year with a .504 Slugging Pct. He also gave up 13 Home Runs last year. Not very good.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Long reliever. We'll hardly see Adkins pitch, I assume. well i hope thats the case. Why did they release him though? That is my question. It's not like he is on the ML Roster. Maybe he will sign another minor league deal.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) Yeah, I think you are correct now that you bring it up.... Still something must have happened for this to have happened. i really don't think this was the right move. I'm sorry but why not give him a chance to get his s*** straight in Charlotte. John Adkins stinks.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) I wonder if his agent asked for a release after the Sox brought up Adkins....Maybe Shingo and the agent were thinking a call-up would be possible, but the Adkins move may have shown them how fall he had fallen in the organization. they couldn't call him up because i'm pretty sure you have to spend 10 days in the minors if you have been demoted before you can be called up. I remember hearing about it and that the only exception is an injury.

WTF? I swear i read that he had signed a Minor League Deal with the Sox?

I just hope they don't suspend Mark. That would really suck.

Another Suspension from Steroids is coming

Is this a surprise? he was already taking performance enhancing supplemants in Viagra. -
The most disturbing thing about what the ump did was that Surhoff had no problem with Buehrle hitting him. He just trotted down to first base with his head down. I think if you ask most of the Orioles players they will say it was wrong to. Their was no warning given and especially when Iguchi was hit yesterday the Sox didn't retaliate. f*** YOU UMP!

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) Negativity or not, Timo has to get his ass off of this team. Easily my most hated Sox player in a long time. you could be stuck with Harris instead of timo. -

QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) I second the asian thing.. he has a little Iguchi in him. I think he is the lovechild of Iguchi and Jim Parque. -
if the d-backs fall out of the race(which is almost impossible in that division) do you think they might trade Tony Clark. He would like good in a Sox uniform.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Sosa is lost at the plate. He looks like a slower version of the guy who struggled to hit .200 with the White Sox. and he looks much smaller, I wonder why? -

Ah stone said that Garcia knows that one more hard breaking ball and he is out of the inning. -
Huff Lugo Vizquel The thing is though almost everybody is put on waivers during the season so they can see what teams might want for that certain player. I'm sure a lot of White Sox players have been put on waivers.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Something tells me that Cubs fans will like having a guy with a .380 OBP leading off when they think they have a shot at the playoffs. um you don't go to the playoffs with a s*** bullpen the way they have it. Dempster is good however who do you have to set him up. Their Rotation is average at best so the only reason they are in contention is cause the national league is bad.

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) Lets see if you feel the same if they lose in first round SS2K. would you seriously give up Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, Freddy Garcia, Damaso Marte, Aaron Rowand, Brandon McCarthy, Brian Anderson, Chris Young and Ryan Sweeney. According to Scott Reifort KW was being asked pretty much to trade these guys if he wanted to get a big impact player.
