  1. I think Vizcaino might be traded soon. He was put in to face 1 batter and that is extremely random time to put him in their.
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) That's right. Hunter plays hard and goes all out. Sometimes when you do that, bad things happen to your body. Oh well. you know what i used to really hate Torri Hunter (because of some of his comments and stuff) but i have really grown to respect him. Did anyone read that article about his dad in Sports Weekly. his dad is a Crack addict and the article was very powerful. Also if he was on the Sox he would be a fan favorite. i really respect how he plays the game.
  3. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) MArte would most likely be used for PAlmeiro if need be in the 9th :puke
  4. QUOTE(BBaum21 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know I've started a blog on the White Sox and the rest of Major League Baseball. As an aspiring journalist, I'm trying to get some exposure doing something I love. I'll appreciate any feedback--good and bad. The blog can be found at http://blakebaumgartner.blogspot.com/ Enjoy!! BBaum21 good stuff their.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) For my money Tejada is the best player in baseball, well him or A-Rod... he is the best damn shortstop in the game. I know a kid though who thinks that Nomar is the best SS in the game. Idiot.
  6. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) The three-team deal between the Red Sox, Mets and Devil Rays is currently on life support, a source told ESPN.com. ''I don't know if it's completely dead,'' said an official of one of the three teams. ''But it's hit a roadblock … unless someone has some other thoughts.'' According to the official, the Red Sox asked for more from the Mets to complete the deal, which would have sent Manny Ramirez and Danys Baez to New York, Aubrey Huff and Mike Cameron to Boston and Lastings Milledge, Yusmeiro Petit, Anibal Sanchez and Kelly Shoppach to the Rays. It might have been that they wanted Braden Looper. However, the Mets would want to keep him and use him to close and Baez in a setup role initially. Jul. 29 - 10:17 pm et Source: ESPN.com hopefully KW is on the phone with the Devil Rays for Huff.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) By a lot? I disagree with you on that. Anyways, Crede hasn't shown much improvement during his MLB career so far. Also, Boras is his agent. Thus, it wouldn't shock me to see Crede gone after this season or next season. what is so bad about a .253 average from the #8 spot. As far as Boras he doesn't have as much leverage as you think for an arbitration case. Gagne lost his arbitration case after he tied Smoltz record for saves in the NL and boras is his agent.
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) I'd like the Sox to go after Mueller in the offseason. It'd be nice to have a bat like his batting 7th... what is everyones problem with Crede? he puts up good numbers for a #8 hitter. plus he is the best defensive 3B in the AL by a lot to.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) They would get Mueller to play 3rd. He's pretty good with the glove. Manny would be unbelievable at the Urinal. yes however they don't need more power. Ramirez is putting up very good offensive statistics.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) Steve Stone was on PTI mentioning a package that included Aramis Ramirez, Patterson, Mitre and a couple of minor leagers for Manny and Mueller. lol! Than the cubs would be robbed. Yeah trade Ramirez for Mueller and Manny Ramirez. Wow! What the cubs need is a leadoff man and no jerry hairston isn't a Major League Leadoff man. He is a utility player. Wow! Here is a suggestion to the Cubs, A. Ramirez can really hit and while isn't good defensively he is having a better year than Manny. Manny can't even play defense.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) I predict Manny is on the Cubs by Sunday afternoon. and how? That would be a dumb trade to make.
  12. Larry Bigbe was just traded to the Rockies for Eric Byrnes.
  13. anybody here anything on Bigbe. Sportsline.com usually will say if a player was taken out for injuries or anything like that.
  14. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Game almost 2 hours old and we are in the bottom of 4th. Sheesh not exactly a Mark Buehrle game.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) Bigbie got dealt for sure. maybe he was injured on that dive for AJ's basehit.
  16. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) I we have not seen the last of Frank in the WSox uniform he wears so well. Reading the AP report made me :. Frank has always been a MLB idol to me. I'm sure many WSox fans feel that way. The Doc says it's not the same bone he had the screws in it. It's hairline fracture of another bone. They will immediately put him in a cast boot & see if it heals naturally. It's very doubtful he can come back & do a Gibson but I can't give up that hope. The Doc emphasized it is not career-ending. KW's comments were encouraging. He said this wasn't in the script. He said Thomas was expected to come back & help the WSox win in the post season & come back next year to hit HR #500. He said if Thomas had not been hurt these past yrs he's sure we'd be talking about #600 instead of #450. It sounds to me like Thomas will be back after signing what is likely to be the most incentive ladden contract in league history. Still it won't be the same without Frank this year. We miss you big guy. Get well soon well this might be wishful thinking however i believe that Mike Lowell was injured in 2003 in mid august because he broke a bone in his hand. he was supposed to be out for the rest of the season however he came back in the end of september and played in the playoffs. I know a broken bone in your hand isn't nearly as bad as a fractured bone in the ankle. Stranger things have happened. I agree that Frank will be back because i'm not sure how many teams will want a guy who has been hurt for 2 seasons in a row.
  17. Huff and Burnett. They need another bat now and Huff would be perfect (especially because he is lefthanded) and Burnett might put them over the top.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Actually I'm not going by stats, I'm going by personal feelings and what I've heard from credible sources. :headshake
  19. QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) morgan will be missing this sunday on the broadcast, according to the espn media zone website steve phillips and steve stone will be on the call with john miller and sam ryan on the field sweet. Stone is on the call.
  20. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) Hello, Red Sox management, this is Kenny Williams. In return for Manny Ramirez, I am prepared to offer you the Charlotte and Birmingham rosters; and your grandson may have Scott Podsednik and Lisa Dergan's future daughter's hand in marriage. SFF just as long as it isn't Lisa Dergan.
  21. no way in hell. he is 1-dimensional and can't paly defense. He is a tremendous hitter however that contract is worth $20 million a year and what do you think it would take to trade for him. If anyone thought it would be just some prospects than they are wrong. You would have to assume that the BoSox would want PITCHING meaning Buehrle or Garland. plus they have enough righthanded thumpers. They need a lefthanded thumper.
