  1. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) Blum has 118 games at short in his career according to yahoo. He has over 400 at 3rd. Between him and Ozuna, they have it covered. That's more stable than Willie being the 3rd option at short. Blum can play anywhere except pitcher and catcher.
  2. for a Fantasy Football League that holds 20 teams. First 13 people who say they want to do it are in. leave your email address so i can get it to the guy who runs the league.
  3. Good trade as long as this isn't the only trade they still need another bat. I think Blum is a good utility man and will play the role perfectly and it also means this: WILLIE HARRIS=HE GAWN!
  4. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) I also thought I'd hate it, but it was not bad. James and Smith are a decent team and what's her name is so HOT in that film Eva Mendes is very hot.
  5. QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) John Miller, Steve Phillips, and Steve Stone with Sam Ryan on the field. espn radio for those out of chicago is Dan Shulman. Dave Campell. Stone and Phillips are filling in for morgan tonight Stoney
  6. But I thought that he was a Future HOF?
  7. I also think that Huff will be rejuvinated considering he will be playing in a PLAYOFF Race for the first time. He has been playing for nothing, so this would only improve his stats IMHO.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) Aw, what the f***? I just read through like 9 pages of stuff I've missed since last night, and not one f***ing thing happened. Geoff Blum?! Who gives a rat's ass? Where's my Huff?
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) A look back at some Frank Thomas moments in the media... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Not always flattering. you know what f*** YOU MEDIA! Remember him for the good times not for the Media Created things.
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:32 AM) You hurt his feelings... :fthecubs that is the troll g-man/twinsrule.
  11. I saw Hitch tonight and it is actually pretty funny. Kevin James is very funny in it. I thought it would be pretty boring but i was very surprised.
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) That's what made him such a great hitter. He'd have 500 HRs if didn't lose so much time to injury in the new century. yeah i know. I liked that he was patient at the plate to. I remember when I was at the last game of the 97 season when he won the batting tittle. One of my dad's friends put a "Congrats Frank" sign up on the big screen.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Frank's the only one to hit .300, have 100+ RBIs, 100+ BBs, 100+ Rs, and 20+HR in 7 straight years. Ted Williams did it in 6 IIRC. that's it. Frank would have 500 HR now if he hadn't been so patient at the plate.
  14. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) I love Frank. I wonder if he's a lock for the Hall, however. I'm not so sure, though he has blasted a lot of home runs and did dominate the decade like you say. Is he a certain hall of famer? I'd love to hear bill James' take on this. yes. Especially with all the steroid stuff that has gone down. Like him or not, Frank never took steroids and even voters who hate frank have to look at that. He accomplished all of that stuff without steroids unlike some other players(McGwire and Sosa). Also i believe he is the only player besides Babe Ruth and I believe Lou Gehrig to hit .300 with 30+ HR, 100 RBI, and 100 walks for at least 5 seasons in a row. I might be wrong on this but i'm pretty sure i'm this is correct.
  15. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) espn can say what they want, they are not the ones in contact with other teams negotiating deals you mean Steve Phillips actually isn't the GM? I thought phillips was negotiating deals.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) Depends on what you mean by "over the top". The Sox currently are 32 games over .500 and have 67 wins at the end of July. Huff would make the team much better by adding his bat to the lineup, he's a lefty with a great power stroke and can hit for average. Huff would be a great acquisition but to put a team "over the top" I just don't know WTF that means. i mean from a Postseason team to a team that will deep into the playoffs. How much of an impact do you think he would make in the playoffs because the Sox are pretty much in right now.
  17. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) My guess is it's Jason Schmidt... why?
  18. Would Aubrey Huff put the Sox over the top though?
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) Where do you get this s*** from? Huff is a GOOD player? You're high, Huff is a potential 30/100/.300 875+ OPS guy considering how he's already done it once in his career and came damn close last season. That is not a good player that is a special player. Players like Huff are hard to find, Tracey + a mid level spect will not get it done. Take a look at Huff's '03 and '04 numbers then tell me he's just a good player. yeah and what is he doing this year. Look Tracey, Sweeny, and another prospect however Chuck LaMar has a history of asking for the moon. Huff can't play defense because he is a BUTCHER with the glove. Sweeny is the number 3 prospect on the sox however to ask for Anderson, McCarthy, and maybe young is BS. Look it has to be a fair deal for both sides however all LaMar is doing is asking for the moon.
  20. They are both good players but your f***ing best pitching prospect for a GOOD player. I could understand if it was a guy like Burnett or Schmidt or maybe even Griffey but for Huff and Baez. You gotta be kidding me. It should only take Tracy and maybe a mid level prospect to get one of those guys. f*** you Chuck LaMar, no wonder they have a bad team.
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) The updated version of WH's avatar. 2 best hitters of the 90's.
  22. Frank Thomas was the best hitter of the 90's. Period. I remember when he was in his prime he was the best hitter i ever saw. Nobody in the 90's could hit for average, power, and still be that patient at the plate. Yeah sosa and McGwire hit 60 HR's however they were both on steroids and while McGwire hit for a good average, Sosa was an all or nothing player. He got a bad rap for being selfish: Well a selfish player wouldn't play 3 seasons injured because he wanted to help his team. Yeah he made some mistakes but who hasn't. Thanks Frank for everything you have done and hopefully you will be back next season.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Sandberg is a good player but I wouldnt really call him HOF material..... sure his fielding percantage was awesome but if you play such a small range it should be damn good. looking at Sandberg's stats if Baines isn't elected to the HOF than that is a crime because Baines is better in almost every offensive statistic except Stolen Bases.
  24. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) Anyway, I'm hearing Duke pitched a great game and the offense got going so that is good news. Go get em again tomorrow! yes he did. They weren't able to keep Tejada and Palmeiro in check however you only win so many battles.
