just got back. Was taking my finals. At 24 the Astros select John Maybeery Jr. from Stanford. 1st base is a need with Bagwell getting up there. Please use my pick instead of Danman's. Erase his pick. We like Maybeery because of his power potential and we need that.

Before i get bashed, let me explain myself. Why not use Shingo in a Save OP if they are up by 2 or 3 runs and there are no tough leftys. You haven't used Hermy yet so if Shingo gets in trouble just have hermy warmed up and bring him in. That would make sure that he could get his work in.

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) THANK YOU!!! finally someone else agrees with me that we need to use shingo more. He needs to pitch every day or every other day to stay affective, if he has long periods off, he preformance isnt as good. shingo will be fine. dont worry bout him....he is the least of worries I've said that all along.

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) That's like saying that if you already have a Porsche in the garage, you wouldn't want a Ferrari to park next to it. Why the hell wouldnt he? I seem to remember that Kenny called up Beane over the winter to get into the bidding for Hudson and Mulder and he offered McCarthy and Beane refused.

Well that's to bad for Chavez because his limited no-trade clause covers these teams: Cleveland, Florida, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Montreal, Mets ,Tampa Bay and Toronto. He can't veto a trade to the Sox.

I have to read The Wave for summer reading. I saw the tv show and wasn't impressed.

I actually vote for guys who deserve to go. Time to get rid of the All Star vote.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 31, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) Did I already mention that I'd take Koch over him...I think I did. that should be in Green. I think Koch was a class act however he sucked.

I will take the Astros.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 31, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) I personally think that if Shingo could get some regular innings and get himself into a groove he would be effective again...pitching once a week isn't enough to get into any kind of rhythm...He has shown he can pitch at this level b4...how quickly people forget or just give up on players...funny thing is most who are ripping him, if he gets it together how fast they will be riding his jock. I agree. He will play a big part on the Sox this year.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Am I the only one here that thinks Shingo still has it in him to turn around this season and start shutting people down? From what I've seen of him...his problem is nothing that can't be corrected...it's not like he's lost speed or anything off of a pitch - he can't get his pitches over and down, so he ends up having no option but his fastball, and people can just sit on it. If he can figure out how to get his change/curve over for a strike, then it could all snap back into place for him. Right now I think he needs time. As a former pitcher whenever you think to much you often walk guys. Just have fun and be loose.

who do u want pitching in 9th with a 1 run lead
White Sox Josh replied to soxman35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The guy with no ERA. I say though give it to the hot hand. If Hermy struggles and Shingo is pitching well (like before the texas game) and not walking guys than Shingo should have the ball. if neither are pitching well, than the Sox are screwed. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 30, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) The Score is reporting that Shingo may be sent down to Charlotte next week to make room for El Duque and Ross Gload. that is not gonna happen. Walker will be sent down once Gload is ready and when El Duque comes off the DL than it will either be Perez or Harris who will be sent down. My money is on Timo. You can't carry 10 pitchers and quite frankly Shingo has been pitching better lately. Besides this outing he has done well in May.

QUOTE(Stocking @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) Jenks is the looney guy that ESPN did a story on while in the angels organization correct? I thought that was Kevin Gregg but I'm not sure anymore.

Tadahito and Shingo should start recruiting him over the winter.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 14, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) Garcia is starting to piss me the f*** off these days. He was out there acting like a junkballer all night and he had more hangers than a f***ing closet. He better get his s*** wired together and do it fast. Ozzie I know Garcia is f***ing one of your relatives but GETTING A WIN FOR THE TEAM IS MORE f***ING IMPORTANT THAN GETTING A WIN FOR YOUR BUDDY. YOU DUMB TRUCK!!!! What the f*** were you f***ing doing bringing him out there in the 7th?!?!?!? Where the f*** was Politte who hasn't pitched in days??!?! Why was Cocks left in there to get shelled all that time. GOD GROW A BRAIN AND GET A CLUE!!!!!!! Shut the hell up! Garcia has had 2 bad outings this year and the rest were very good. I'd like to see you do better.

Jenks has been lights out this year. You think he could get a call up later this year? My biggest fear is if he gets injured. That was the reason the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Orange County near San Diego in Southern California released him.

Putting this Trade Shingo talk to rest.
White Sox Josh replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 13, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) Jose Contreras had a full no-trade clause, and was guaranteed a playoff spot too He accepted a trade to the Sox. Not like a player on a winning team waiving their no-trade clause is completely unheard of (this if he even does have a no-trade clause) Different Circumstances. Jose hated New York. -
If Jon Garland continues to pitch like this
White Sox Josh replied to nitetrain8601's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Buehrle should go before Garland. He's more proven and is better than a couple of the pitchers that the ESPN article had.
