As much as I liked Iguchi, I wish Ray Ray was our 2b for most of the decade

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 02:32 PM) Alexei Ramirez in the 2 hole last season... .281/.343/.422/.765 That looks like plate discipline and a bit of power. I'd be perfectly fine with that in the 2-hole. I also don't think people realize that Ramirez walked 49 times last year. He wasn't that undisciplined. also, historically the #2 hitter sees a lot of fastballs which is exactly what Alexei needs.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 07:30 PM) Crap - I don't even remember Andy Gonzalez. When was he on the team? Lucky. I wish I didn't remember him

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) i count 12 (if ya count andruw) and 14 have been on the sox at one point in time (Mike Cameron and Sosa out of this decade) I originally counted Jones but then realized that he never played a game for the sox this decade. Somehow I missed Durham, Colon, and Garcia -

by my count 9 guys from that list were sox in the decade -
I'm for it. The guy has huge power potential. I think the cubs made big mistake last year not finding him more ABs. He is a terrible defensive player but can at least play multi positions. Also would give us a legit emergency catcher if ever needed.
-
Most certainly yes. Having the big year in 2006 pretty much sealed the deal on any debate. When healthy in the 2000s he was still capable of huge power numbers. Plus he has the 4th highest .OBP of any righty in history.

What's the strangest/funniest/wildest non-baseball thing at USCF
earthshiner replied to knightni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think this was the second to last home game back in 2000. Thomas was pushing for the MVP and they were handing out signs that had 'MVP 35' or something like that on them. Paper airplanes were flying the entire game. At one point a plane flew from the right field upper deck across to the left field upper deck. I think the entire crowed was watching it. When it landed everyone cheered. -
I just look at as as one word that can be pronounced either way when needed

earthshiner replied to AWhiteSoxinNJ's topic in Pale Hose Talk

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 08:15 PM) I don't know why people hate on Prior's mechanics. It seem like it all started when the Cubs knew Prior was done and couldn't figure out why he kept on getting injured, so they said, "It must be the mechanics" and everyone ran with it. His mechanics actually looked great and the towel drill is actually a damn good one. With that said, I think he was on the roids. this guy has done a pretty good study of Prior's (and other pitchers) mechanics. His mechanics are pretty bad http://www.chrisoleary.com/projects/Baseba...gMechanics.html

would have been much easier if I noticed that the numbers on the left corresponded with how long the drought was. took until I had about 5 left to figure that out.

I believe parking at the metrodome is $8 bucks.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 08:45 AM) Hi Def Shot of the Game...nice. It was also the Illinois lottery lets have a ball.
-
ha! Beckham getting hit in the balls is the have a ball moment.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 09:19 PM) Olivo hit the s*** out of that ball; 10-0. I wonder what Olivo hits vs. the Sox; seems like he kills us; maybe not. seems he only hits .206 against us.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) wouldn't you love to pick up a bat and face Pena? Pretty sure I could get RBI of off him and I have not seen live pitching in about 7 years.
-
Pretty sure that Pena is one of my least favorite players I have ever seen in sox uni.
-
awwww crap. Pena's pitching
-
ok, I give up, who's announcing with Hawk. Is it Huff again?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) Olivo woulda been a good backup catcher all these years. Who did we trade him for? Our backup catchers have sucked big time. Garcia. I'm fine with how that trade worked out.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 07:20 AM) So if you let him in, whoever is right behind him will have the most RBI of any player not inducted into the HOF. So you probably should let that player in as well. It will work its way down to everyone being in the HOF. Baines had a great career, but not a HOF career. 9 of the next 10 are also in the HOF. The other one is Dawson

how can you set free what is already loose?
