  2. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 08:21 PM) Shaw is back. has bunch of stitches And taking dumb penalties
  3. My audio sensibilities are offended yet again
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 06:34 PM) I'm saying it NEVER WOULD HAVE GOTTEN to this point. We'd be four or five over .500 and in the fricking race. Our pitching is outstanding. AJ brought some intangibles, too, you know. Plus yes his bat would have been nice to have in this godforsaken lineup. I very much disagree. Putting together a team and everyday lineup is a puzzle. And the AJ piece has NOT been replaced. NOT CLOSE. You are delusional if you think AJ is worth a 15-16 game swing in the standings
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) There's no way that anyone who has watched this team play this year truly feels like they're a solid hitting catcher away from contending. ding
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) I also expect flies all over the overhead cameras. That place is apparently quite disgusting. The flies drive me nuts! that is so nasty. Everytime i see that I wonder how they possibly can allow that on their premier event.
  7. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 04:06 PM) And the Jordan myth continues to grow..... back then the dollar was worth more, and people used cash more, so it doesnt mean as much now as it did then
  8. There has to be more to that story than "a guy seeking an autograph got beat up by Pippen"
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 12:18 PM) Pierce isn't the player he once was, but still put up a PER of 19.1 last year, .559 TS%, and a .502 EFG% last year. If used properly, he would be a huge upgrade to the Bulls and he'd help make Derrick Rose a better player too. You are basically looking at a guy who can do a little bit of everything but nothing particularly well which is a lot better than the Bulls running out guys who are basically specialty players. He'd also prove to be a guy that Butler could learn from as they really do play similar styles of ball. Those two would actually be really good additions and they're familiar running Thibs' defense too. Still, I don't see any way they don't end up in LA with Rivers. Stern is trying to make sure this doesnt happen, similar to what he did with Chris Paul to the Lakers a few years back
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) And do you really expect (or believe) that we'll sign 2 or 3 of those names in the offseason? Because just signing one (say, McCann) isn't enough to put us back into contention....so it would seem kind of pointless, unless they go back into "all-in" mode again, which would be a huge financial risk/gamble. Im not sure what the Sox plans are, except for not committing to Cano
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 11:56 AM) And while I love the idea of Garnett on the Bulls, I really doubt he and Noah would get along. They don't care for each other. I dont think it would happen, but I think they would be able to put their differences aside. If Pippen and Rodman could work it out, then Garnett and Noah could. They both want to win.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) Either way, the White Sox can choose to be major players in a free agent market that is likely to include Brian McCann, Shin Soo-Choo, Curtis Granderson, Jacoby Ellsbury, Chase Utley, Kendry Morales and more. Then I'll quote Jake's article from yahoo. Aren't all of those players pipe dreams as well? What reason do we have to believe that the White Sox will try to spend their way back into contention? As (arguably) none of them will come on board and be part of a rebuilding club unless they receive assurances that we'll bring in at least two more everyday players to provide us a legit shot at competing in 2014, or, at the worst, 2015. None of those names are Cano, are they? None of them are looking for 275 million, are they? In fact, besides Ellsbury, most of that list is players that are frequently injured and could probably be had on reduced contracts(not to say Ellsbury isnt frequently injured, but he is most likely going to get a big contract). Like I said, your pipe dream. Canos contract demands meet the reality of possibly 2-3 teams in the majors, The Yankees, Dodgers, and possibly the Tigers if Old Moneybags decides to complete his insane money spending spree
  13. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 11:40 AM) Would you guys do Deng/#20/Bobcats pick for Clevelands #1?? Rose-Mclemore-Butler-Boozer-Noah could be a really solid starting 5. What would trading Deng do for the Bulls salary wise? Could they sign a good bench player, say a Gerald Henderson, and use the MLE on a big or a PG/SG depending what they wanna do with Kirk? Not really too excited about that. I think I would rather wait until we finally reach the carrot at the end of the bobcats pick stick. This draft isnt that exciting to me.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) I think shooting yourself in the leg has to be #1 on that list. I would place it #2 merely for the fact that Plax was able to resume his playing career after he was in jail. Slobodan ended his career(and possibly life)
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 06:00 AM) Cano isn't talking about his contract publicly, but he has told friends that he'd like something in the neighborhood of a $275MM deal, reminiscent of Alex Rodriguez's deal. The Yankees aren't believed to be anywhere close to that, however, and at one point they suggested something closer to David Wright's eight-year, $138MM contract. The second baseman is the top ranked free agent on Tim Dierkes' 2014 Free Agent Power Rankings. While he's still having a strong year, his numbers are down from his 2012 campaign in which he hit .313/.379/.550 with 33 homers. We might want to forget about that Robinson Cano pipe dream right now. If we're going to spend our way back into contention, it's going to have to be veterans coming off of down seasons, injuries, aging veterans in the Utley mold that we're gambling have 1-2 good seasons left before going completely south. Along with the fact that Beckham and probably Viciedo (he will get at least one more year) are the two likeliest players right now to be around for 2014. I believe that Cano pipe dream is yours and yours alone.

Whodunnit sucked. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese Naked and Afraid was equal parts funny and wtf and interesting. The "couple" this week couldnt have been more opposite in personality, the guy thought he was big and tough but I thought he was the biggest complainer of the two of them. It was pretty hilarious that he left the soot all over his face after their lean-to burned down. Like he was so angry about it that he left it. His sexist rant didnt really do him any favors, but then again the girl wasnt appreciative of anything. everytime he brought something back to eat, "thats small", "thats a baby".
  17. Maybe Toews had a neck stinger. If you watch that video of him on the bench, he cranes his neck back and forth, like he is testing it
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 23, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) we don't need a fire sale all we need is to tweak You are probably going to be really pissed off after July 31st
  19. There was a foreign basketball player, Slobodan Jankovic,(playing in Greece)that was playing in their championship game. They were losing and he was called for a foul, he lost his temper and he grabbed the base of the hoop and rammed his head into it, and broke his neck. I nominate that number one. http://www.nytimes.com/1993/04/30/sports/s...ming-block.html He is in a wheelchair now

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 22, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) Worst accent since Kevin Costner in Robin Hood. Geez. How could the producers let this one even go out on the net? There are so many better options for an Eastern European villain...like Dr. McCoy in Star Trek (see him in the Bourne Supremacy as a Russian) or the kid who was also the "heavy" in Harry Potter movies, Victor Krum from Bulgaria. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Ianevski Costner just said"f*** it" in the middle of the movie and stopped trying
