QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) I was talking to an NFL head coach this summer, odd circumstance, and he was pretty candid about the Bears. He was not a fan of Martz, Tice or Lovie. He also said that they had Shea as a third round talent and without a position in the NFL. His thought on the OC position was that Lovie really did not knwo what he wanted and could not make a decision on that position to save his life. Teams were not letting him interview guys anymore for that position which is why Tice was handed the job. Some things on Lovie. He is abysmal at evaluating and developing talent. My feeling is that he has a say in the draft and roster moreso than we are lead to believe. I find it odd that after Lovie got his deal after the Super Bowl all of a sudden Jerry Angelo could not draft any longer. I also think the McClellan pick has Lovie written all over it to replace Urlacher at middle linebacker. Lovie inherited three pro bowl defenders and was handed a DE with hall of fame talent and he is incapable of building on that. If that is the case, then why has Lovie been so stubborn and insistent on keeping McClellin at DE? Right now is the time that McClellin should be moving into that spot and he is still a spot rusher

QUOTE (Sox1 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 09:17 AM) Mark Gonzalez wrote on sunday, that the Sox were looking at a left handed hitter thats plays on the right side of the infield for the Mariners. How about Beckham for Ackley? It was a total guess by Gonzalez http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-12...ox-jordan-danks Nothing concrete there. And I doubt they would just flip Ackley after his first full year

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) In regard to radio retreads Steve Dahl was pretty decent and was paid by 104.3 to sit home for two years and do podcasts. In regard to space until I was helping my 11 year old son on a project, I had never heard of Voyager 1 and Voyager 2. that sound you just heard was Balta exploding in white hot rage

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 08:54 AM) Bettman has to be the worst commissioner in sports, right? hard to argue for a guy that has lost 2 1/2 seasons(most likely 3) in 20 years. He has also led an overexpansion of the league that has really hurt the overall profitability of the league. -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 10:35 PM) I can't imagine Deb risking her life to get Dexter to break up with Hannah. I mean, she was hanging upside down in her car in a ditch for christsakes. Yeah, I get Deb setting up Hannah, that makes sense, but not in such a dangerous fashion. She could have drank the bottle right as she got to Dexters, collapsed, and then she'd be in the hospital either way, making a claim against Hannah. Doesn't make sense to risk your life for that. Also, why the hell wouldn't Dex just KILL Hannah? She knows everything about Dexter. She could easily get back at Dexter by telling everyone his methods, what he does, etc. Love. The same reason why Deb would do a crazy thing in order to get hannah out of the picture

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:51 AM) "might be" carries a very wide probability range. I could say I "might be" fat and I "might be" sleeping with Kate Upton tonight, yet the likelihoods of both statements are vastly different. This part of the probability range does not apply to reality. AJ returning to the Sox isnt farfetched

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) For all the people complaining about the Shea pick, let me just remind you that Emery also took alshon jeffery who before his injury was leading all rookie Wr's in yards and tied for most TDs with Stephen Hill. He may well be the BEST rookie WR in the league. So I'll take that. And who knows, Shea might still be good. The problem is that is a wasted first round pick in a year that is considered within a "window". Shea could end up being good sometime, but that doesn't help now and the first round pick should be able to help now.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) As nice as it would be to land Long I think the chances of him ending up actually hitting FA are very unlikely. For whatever reason people are saying the dolphins plan on letting him walk. Strange, but the talk is getting louder

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) But Tice loves Webb, he never treated him as if he was crap. He goes on and on about his size and athleticism and potential. Webb is the best LT the Bears have, according to Tice. Scary, but true unfortunately.
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) exactly though, our backups are better than our starters in many cases. I can't justify or explain that. In this case it was really one guy. Gabe Carimi. Rachal was actually pretty good, Louis was as well. Carimi was bad, and Webb continues to be bad. But the thing that happened here was half of the bad was replaced, Scott replacing Carimi. The rest of the line and TEs are helping out Webb. The focus on protecting Cutler is narrowing. And I am not trying to say I like Tice as OC, because I really dont, but I think the crap he has been given for O line is just that, crap. Hard for me to be mad at him for not turning below average players into stars
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) Consider this: Our starters on the Oline were TERRIBLE at pass blocking. Then a few of them go down due to injuries and we're forced to put some backups in, suddenly our Oline is slightly better at pass blocking. explain that. Because frankly, that s*** mystifies me. The backups right now are Jonathan Scott who is a veteran tackle, Edwin Williams who was actually really good last season replacing Chris Williams(but got beat out by Chilo Rachal) and they moved Gabe Carimi inside. I cant explain why Carimi is playing better now, but the other two guys have done this before
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) I really think Tice needs to be blamed for that. The Oline is his baby, and it's an ugly baby. We have a bottom 5 Oline every year. you can put a dress on a pig.....
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) I think our offense looked much crisper under Martz. Maybe someone could find the stats to prove my point, I'm in a bit of a rush right now, but at least Jays individual statistics bear this out. And for all of Tice's talk of protecting the QB he has not been able to do it any better than Martz did. He's got 31 sacks now. Last year at 7-3 Jay was sacked 21 times. Again, its another huge turnover on the O-Line. There has been very little continuity on the O line since Jay became a Bear
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) ........................ You need a good O line to have a Martz offense and we haven't had a capable O line since the mid 2000s You need a hall of fame left tackle like Orlando Pace to run a Martz offense. Not many teams run the seven step drop anymore because defenses are just too damn fast, it was a recipe for disaster and it cost Cutler a few concussions. It also helps to have 2 hall of fame WRs running routes(and actually know the routes, Hester cough cough).
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) To be fair, Cutler made a couple of bad overthrows on a wide open Davis, Hester's TD drop was inexcuseable. What the hell happened to Hester, he hasn't even been close to breaking a return the last bunch of games? One sure first down was dropped which would have been a 20 yard gain, and then the play in the middle where he was supposed to post the LB, horrible positioning. Even the announcers mentioned that even though it was a bad/high throw, Davis did no favors to Cutler. In the case of Hester, the toy needs to be removed from the toybox. Its over, the guy isnt what he was paid to be, and what he was paid to be ended up ruining what he really was.
-
Cutler didnt have a great game, but he definitely played well enough to win. Hester and Davis once again were total let downs, and Alshon had a chance to make a great play as well. I will give Jeffery a small pass given that he is a rookie and has not been on the field much this year, but going forward those are plays he needs to make.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) I'm with your wife. lol
-
How about this, do you think Hannah drugged Debs water? My wife thinks Deb may have done it herself in order to set up Hannah and force Dexter to act. Im kind of on the fence about it, especially after Hannah said "I dont make mistakes" and seeing Deb popping pills throughout the episode

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) I'm in a negative mood. Sorry. Go Bulls. Noah beasted. We will enjoy that together. F-in bears

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:23 AM) I thought the same thing. The one cop said he lost him before they heard the chainsaw. And those clips in the previews will probably end up as dream scenes. They always do that. DOAKES MOTHERf***ER!!
-
I would love to get Te'o, but I agree that the picks are far more valuable for the Bears right now. Unless they plan on cutting a lot of salary and going crazy through free agency, but that is never a guaranteed fix
-
I love where Dexter is going, but WTF did he leave the chainsaw running for? If LaGuerta was truly setting up a sting, she would have been watching Dexter all night.

Oh boy I just saw the replay of RG3's knee injury. That looked ugly http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/20..._n_2268098.html

Now watch GB lay an egg and make next weeks game mean even more than it already does.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) He got so much out of Johnson, Moore, & Hummel (when his knee was in place), he is gonna have to prove himself without them. Kinda reminds me of Weber, in that he was cruising when Dee, Deron, Augie & crew, but once they left it got much tougher. (Although those weren't Weber's recruits, while Painter did recruit those guys) Big difference there. Painter already has proven he can recruit and coach those types, Weber never could
